- A true titan, Jacoby is entirely devoted to the guardian cause and the people around him. Resurrected roughly 15 years ago, he quickly built a reputation as a warm guardian always willing to watch his companions backs and keep people safe.
- He has something of a complicated relationship with his ghost, Lily. For many years Lily traveled alongside a warlock named Ellis and his ghost Delphinium as she looked for her own guardian. After Crota's conquest of the moon caused the final death of Delphinium and Ellis' friend Luca, the unspoken implication of Lily wishing she could step in as his ghost caused the two to go their separate ways. Initially unwilling to resume her search for her own guardian, she was understandably conflicted and distant when she found Jacoby on Mars, broken beyond repair in the rusted out remains of a crashed jumpship. Though he took to her quickly, she remained cold for several years. Over the years their bond has grown as close as any other guardian and ghost pair. She remains rather soft-spoken and reserved, but its a fond quiet as opposed to a cold one.
- Give him a rifle and he'll be good for keeping some distance between his fireteam and their enemies. That is until said fireteam goes rushing in anyways and he has to close ranks to be able to pop an emergency ward of dawn.
- Jacoby's transition from human to exo during the golden age was complicated. As a man on the brink of death, he signed his life over to Clovis Bray out of fear and a desire to live: whatever that meant. It was a fearful acceptance that didn't last past the transfer. Resistance to Clovis Bray's attempts to wipe and rewire him led to a series of quick reboots in order to fully wipe away the traces of his human life and bring him in line. Memories are therefore tricky for him, much like they are for other exos. Nine reboots means nine fragmented lives to try and piece together/make sense of. Jacoby is perpetually bothered by the memories he lacks from his resurrection and the jumbled up ones he does have that refused to be wiped away with each reboot. His early resets are particularly splintered as a result of their quick succession. Its not something he openly talks about often, even if it would do him some good to confide in others.
- He admittedly ties a lot of his identity to the Tower, The Last City, and his role as a guardian. Still, the truth of the matter is that its less about the location, but what is is to him and what his role is. Ultimately its about home and what he can do to protect it and the people who are part of it. Would definitely give the best hugs, take it or leave it.
