Yazata was born into a world with rules inscribed into his mind, ones he knew he must follow. Many rules were fair, some unfair. One such unfair rule was the fact angels of his rank were forbidden from falling in love with another and creating offspring. Despite his best efforts he fell in love with his close friend, Thedriel. He knew he couldn't speak of this love and kept it hidden, secretly hoping that one day, he could express this.

When his sister and Thedriel went away on a year long business trip and returned, Yazata knew what happened. He could sense the soul of the infant in Daeva, and knew Thedriel was the father. Fear, anger, mourning, all filled his mind, and without much hesitation her terminated the pregnancy with a wave of the hand. After all, they weren't allowed children. When Thedriel hear the screaming and crying of Daeva, he jumped into action, attacking Yazata. Yazata instinctively defended himself. He accidently shot a magic blast into Thedriel's chest, he passed in Daeva's arms, Daeva cursed him and jumped from the heavens. Thedriel wasn't dead, and after Yazata nursed him back to health and tried to explain himself Thedriel cursed him, wishing never to see his face and leapt to the world below.
