Introduction
❝"At least I'm not a horrible father in every timeline.❞
Carolus Crestivil, D'artagnan's father, is a charismatic man, being able to become the life of a party simply by walking into it. Underneath the exterior lies a man who's cursed himself for pursuing the power he sought, as he was the strongest human on Earth, save for the gods. Around 60 years old, he met Halcyon, and they became his first- and only- friend. After Shujin abandoned the doomed timeline to seek a better one, he abandoned his daughter, Hana, who Carolus adopted without a second thought.
His attatchment to Halcyon is harmful to himself, as her aura is physically sickening to be around, although he's since gotten used to it- having died due to it. Even then, he didn't want to leave her, as he wanted to die with a friend by his side. He forgot that he had used a spell that activates upon death, and thanks to some help from Astrid, he was able to come back to life rather quickly. After Halcyon's death only moments later, he's on a walk to find who he is again.

Backstory
At a young age, Carolus was obsessed with being the strongest through raw talent, instead of using steroids and other things. The reason he wanted to do so has been blurred enough to the point that even he's forgotten why. He grew up and eventually found himself to be the strongest. He then met D'artagnan's mother, who had created D'artagnan via in vitro fertilization. As D'artagnan grew up, she looked up to her father at first, even going as far as to take his last name. Carolus enjoyed this, and permitted it. Later on, he witnessed her steadily making bad decisons, and he tried to stop her from doing so, much to her annoyance. Eventually, Carolus distanced himself from her and her mother, although he wasn't incredibly close to them in the first place. He met Halcyon around 60, and he hated them at first, not for anything she had done, but because he wasn't as strong as them. Eventually, he warmed up to them, and his like of them steadily grew into a love. He kept in contact with her throughout his decline... and hers.
Currently, Carolus is walking Halcyon through the steps of love, even though he doesn't quite get it himself- they're both working on it at the same time.

Relationships
Halcyon
Carolus's only friend in death. They were each other's first friend, and they're the only one who Carolus can really open up to. Carolus eventually opened up to Halcyon about his feelings about her, and she happily reciprocated.
