Anise

Anise is a short-haired tortoiseshell point molly with blue eyes and a tall, lithe build.

She is a little taller than the average Mossclan cat, which makes her look a little gangly with her large paws and lithe build. But she makes it work, with how swift she is and how articulated she is with her body. (Though that doesn’t stop her from tripping over her paws a couple times a day). She has minimal scarring, with a notch on her ear and a scar over the bridge of her nose.

A witty warrior, she is sharp-tongued and swift. She is also an excellent hunter. Kestrelpelt is also reliable and is quick to comfort family or friends when needed. Though this makes her feel like she needs to keep all her problems to herself, and bottle them up since she’s so busy comforting everyone else that she doesn’t take the time to recognize her own problems. She often takes teasing a little too far with her friends and doesn't realize it (like the time when Flintjaw lashed out at her when she wasn’t allowed to have her warriors ceremony for another moon), and when she's mad at someone she can become very spiteful. She does what she's told and is up for any kind of warrior duty that's needed of her. When she's in a good mood, she can often be energetic, and ramble a lot (which can go in many different ways, if she’s on a patrol and rambling too much then someone will have to tell her to “quiet down”, or to “stop bouncing around because she’ll scare off all the prey”). She is also very confident in her own abilities as a warrior.

As a kit, she was almost always playing and roughhousing with Jaykit or trying (and failing) to sneak out of the nursery. Kestrelkit was always confused about why Honeykit and Flintkit would always want to play different games or not want to play fight. Though she didn't mind it too much, and Honeykit would always check in on her and Jaykit. Kestrelkit was always overly confident as a kit, which lead her to have a cocky attitude later on. She was also very adventurous, so she always tried to leave the nursery when she wasn't supposed to. (She was always caught). As a kit she also developed a sharp-tongue and became a teaser, the target mainly being Flintkit for not wanting to do anything fun to her. Aspenfall eventually stepped in and told her to apologize and stop, because it was really upsetting her brother and she didn't know.

When she was apprenticed, she was really proud of herself! She was apprenticed by a warrior named Fringeglow. She came into her apprenticeship with the cocky and proud attitude she developed as a kit and it didn't seem to let up any throughout her apprenticeship. She hated doing activities for the elders, or other menial apprentice duties, and with her being good at hunting and being a quick learner the praise didn't help lower her confidence. It wasn't until she failed her apprentice exam that she was knocked back to reality suddenly. She had tripped while hunting and scared off her prey, and came back to Fringeglow with nothing, and while her fighting was being assessed she slipped up and failed to pin the apprentice she was fighting against down. She had asked Fringeglow what she had done wrong that day, and Fringeglow told her about what she had done wrong. Later on her and Fringeglow also had a talk about her poor attitude, and Kestrelpaw's warrior ceremony was delayed by a moon, so she was made into a warrior later than her siblings.

When Flintjaw was made into a warrior he mocked her relentlessly, and Kestrelpaw often found herself confiding in Fringeglow because of how bad she felt for being so mean to everyone else, and to her friends. Fringeglow was the only one she trusted with her feelings at the time, with the situation with her father being absent most of the time, and not wanting to upset her mother with the information that Flintjaw was making fun of her and embarrassing her so badly.

One moon later, after Kestrelpaw recovered from Flintjaw's mockery and from failing her apprentice exam, she was named a warrior as Kestrelpelt, and she was proud of herself again. And she was also proud of her mentor (and mother figure) being named deputy.

As a young warrior, her cocky attitude has definitely diminished. She still has an air of confidence about her, but its much less toxic than it was before, and she's learned to be more kind, and to do her duties for her clan no matter what. She is a devoted cat to her clan and to her family, and shes proud of how far her siblings have come in life, and shes proud of herself for changing so much from her old ways. She still has her energy from when she was a kit, and she has grown to be a rambler and a teller of stories. Kestrelpelt always tries to be kind to other cats, even if they aren't from her clan, and she is almost always reliable when it comes to her duties and is very trustworthy. Kestrelpelt still tends to have a small amount of cats she feels she can actually go to and she still retained somewhat of her spitefulness and teasing from when she was an apprentice too. After Foxstar died, she was so happy for Fringeglow to become Fringestar. She felt that Fringestar deserved the position a lot, and made sure to check in on Fringestar from time to time shortly after Forster died to make sure Fringestar was okay. When Jayleap became deputy she was also very happy for her sibling, congratulating them and praising them after being appointed.
