Zylon

Originally created as an aerial spy drone for a company dabbling in technology far ahead of their time, ‘Zylon’ was supposed to be the latest in aerial surveillance for the military. The plan was to create these drones and input knowledge and information into them once they were created, much like teaching a human child. This was the only way the drones would come to only be loyal to their ‘creators’ and to withhold information from the enemy.

However, when Zylon was in the creation process, the factory for these drones was attacked- burning all computers as well as the assembly line in the factory. Zylon, being made of an ultra-tough steel by creation, was able to survive the fires, but his fellow drones did not have their steel covers yet, and so perished in the flames.
Zylon, having only a child’s mind, escaped in a panic and made his way into the nearby jungle, where he now permanently resides. Not having his creators input on him has greatly affected his abilities, knowledge and personality. What was intended to be a tough, serious and calculating machine is now just a scared and curious child trying to find his way in life.

Despite his paranoia, Zylon is a very quick learner. He can speak a few species’ words, and knows what to avoid in his forest home.
He’s really very sweet, but it takes a lot for him to trust you.
He has no idea how to fly, but is able to perform short glides.
He has one, singular eye in the middle of his otherwise featureless face.
The tip of his tail is used like a radar, so he knows when organic life is approaching.
His body isn't actually joined together, rather the pieces are magnetically attracted to eachother. The magnetic link is impossible to break.
