a keychain charm brought to life by their owner's desire, enoki is a timid little toadstool who helps identify mushrooms and guide people through forests.

Talita trudged through the woods, dejected. Her hunt for mushrooms had gone quite poorly and now she was hopelessly lost to boot. 
She slumped down against a tree and stared at the leaves high above, certain that this would be her final resting place. Her gaze drifted to her left and her jaw dropped. The tree next to her was covered in little yellow and orange protrusions, some kind of fungus for sure! But what was it? And was it edible? She fiddled with her keychain, her eyebrows drawing together in thought.

"Uh, um," said a quiet little voice next to her ear. "Th-those are Chicken of the Woods, and young enough that, um, if you wanted, and you cooked it, you could eat it." Talita spun around and gaped at the little creature next to her. They were a little under four feet tall, with odd orange eyes and a lovely home-made coat. They backed up a step and gave a shy wave. "Hello," they said, almost in a whisper. "I'm, um, here to help."

Ever since that encounter in the woods, Talita has lead small groups of her friends through the woods to go foraging for mushrooms, certain in the knowledge that Enoki will appear and help out should they need something identified or lose their way. The little being is quite shy and will transform back into their charm form if overwhelmed, but quite happy to help out in times of neeed.

- Their mushroom cap is edible, although they prefer people do not eat it.
- The little mushroom in their charm form will open its eyes sometimes to take in the scene.
- They are quite fond of cats and are good friends with the many strays in Talita's neighborhood.
