Jay

Originally sent to Earth as a trigger to the apocalypse, Subject J (codename Jay) destroyed society as we know it. However, humans are like cockroaches — they will always find a way to survive. Jay was sent back to finish the job by bringing the worthy people to a sacrificial place, while killing the rest. Yet, upon conversing with members of the human race, he fraternized with them beyond the control of the Archangels. They then broke his halo, stripping him from most of his powers and his psychic communication to Heaven. Jay, now a fallen angel, yet struggles to believe that he is any less of an angel, and wanders the earth waiting for an order that may never come.

His human design is purely to blend in with humans.

RISE OF THE TMNT ALTERNATE UNIVERSE:

Angels are a Kraang invention from long ago, to more subtly influence people on Earth before a full-scale invasion. One angel, Jay, was caught slacking off on the job and consorting with yōkai instead. His powers were taken from him, his halo was smashed and he was turned into a statue. Afterwards, years later, he was found abandoned among ruins in pristine condition, and is displayed in a museum in the Hidden City. After the Kraang invade Earth proper, or attempt to, Jay is awakened and freed from the curse by the use of Hamato Ninpō near him. Before he starts clothing himself in more modern outfits, he wears ancient garb fitted to him by the Kraang. After they get freed from their statue curse, they have yet to get used to their freedom to do and wear whatever they want with confidence.
