Introduction

Cren is a freelancing self-proclaimed private investigator who tries his best to help humans and demons alike with various investigations. He tries to make a name for himself in the city while juggling constant daily shenanigans. In Cren's world, a lot can be assumed when you first see him but he is actually a very outgoing, friendly young man despite people being afraid of him. He is always just looking for ways that he can help even when he's not needed. He believes he possesses a higher perception then most people and that he's a marvelously intuitive detective. His skills are sub-par at best but he is quite persistent. He can be quite practical and resourceful when he wants to. He is quite intelligent but his emotions tend to be his most powerful asset but also his greatest weakness. He has a lot of empathy for anyone or anything he meets despite traumatic experiences in his past and he always wants to assist people any way he can. When his demon side takes over, he is quite apathetic and cold. If he met his demon side they wouldn't get along because of his hatred of humans and demons alike. It is basically all of Cren's negative aspects he tries to hide away personified.
Cren appears as a young man with dark, reddish skin and light grayish-white hair. The only visual signs that he is a half-demon is his pointed ears and tail that matches his hair. He has dark scars on his face that are reminiscent of burns. His eyes are extremely black and slightly almond shaped. He is often seen wearing nice dress clothes including a pin-striped vest, gray slacks, brown shoes and a dark gray dress jacket. When his demon side takes over (rarely), his hair turns black at the bottom and his left eye becomes black with a red pupil.

Backstory
Cren's life started out quite rough. He was born from a human mother and a demon father who was never around. He was raised by his mother who grew ill when he was young. He waited for his father to come and get him but he never came, leaving him an orphan. Most of the humans were scared of him, knowing who his father is on top of him being part demon. Despite being treated terribly by most people, he enjoyed the little things in life. Most of his young life he had no idea he was any different or that anyone treated him badly. Once Cren turned fifteen however, things drastically changed.

A demon fugitive escaped from the demon realm in the middle of the night and killed a family but Cren, being the only known demon in town, was blamed for the massacre. He was driven out of his hometown, attacked and ultimately decided to head for the city. Despite being scared of being on his own, he actually thrived in the city. He found work at a small cafe because the owner took pity on him being a half demon himself. He saved up enough money from working there to buy a small room in a business office and pursue a life of becoming a private investigator (influenced by old detective films). He rents a small room in the upstairs of the cafe still to live. He helps out occasionally if he needs extra money or if the cafe owner needs assistance. After a year of his PI business not going anywhere, he decided to take a small break and go back to school where he met his future PI partner in crime.
Cren decided to restart his business during school when he met Mitsuru Kyousuke. The two became fast friends because of their similar personalities and interests. While Kyousuke is a human, he doesn't fear half demons and demons like many others. The two solve the case of Chikyo Anazaki together and their success story is what brought Renki to Cren's door. Renki, at first, is mistaken for a lost little boy by Kyousuke while he's at the office alone. When Cren walks in, however, he can immediately tell that there's something off about the child.

Relationships
Kyousuke
One of Cren's university friends who work at the agency with him. He's a very shy man who has an extremely high Danger Sixth Sense that helps out in a pinch. No one knows why he has such a perception to danger despite only seeming to be a human but it's helpful in situations. He is very level-headed and calm and would rather stay back to assess a situation then join a fight but he will if he was to. He knows intermediate summoning magic but he can only use it in high stress situations due to his timidness. He's more of a follower than anything but he doesn't mind as long as he has enough of his favorite snack and time to sleep.
Renki
A demon trapped in the body of a child. He gets quite upset realizing his limitations in this body, which causes him to be upset all the time. He stole a very powerful tool in the demon world but he escaped into the human world through a gate. He met Kyousuke while running away from some demons who were pursuing him. Kyousuke, not knowing he was a demon, helped him and took him to Cren's. He knows a lot of information. Use slight teleportation magic, miasma and small illusion tricks. In his true form, he overheats easily due to all the power he uses and miasma seeps from his mouth sometimes. Few know his full name: Renkinaan (Ren/Key/Nahn).
Chikyo
A grateful high school girl who helps out Cren and co from time to time. Cren and Kyousuke helped her when she went missing and discovered she was a half-demon. She comes by once in awhile in order to give the agency snacks, take care of Cren's plant and to help keep things clean. She does this by choice out of gratitude and considers Cren and Kyousuke her friends. Sometimes she brings her family with her or invites Cren over to their home for a meal. She's very pleasant and became a lot more socialable after her case's completion. She also reccommends people to Cren's agency when she can and spreads the word to try and help him get more customers.
