Appearance

Zev is 173 cm (5'8") tall, sturdy man. His movements are calm and measured, and he doesn't express himself much with his facial expressions - though he does look irritated quite often. He has a light brown skin and freckles, his hair is brown and he shaves his head and has stubble. He has only one seeing eye and it's green with a brown circle around the pupil. His right eye is grotesquely damaged and the skin around it is scarred too. He has all kind of scars around his body and a chipped incisor.
Zev wears practical clothes, a bulletproof vest, fingerless gloves and a black bandana. He also carries a rifle with him.

Personality

Zev is a serious guy who doesn't care about social gatherings, small talk or anything that could make him look like a friendly person, so people usually leave him alone and that's all he asks for. Underneath the seemingly cold shell he's perceptive and caring, and when he feels like opening his mouth, he turns out to be quite talkative and expressive with his speech. It takes him forever to open up about his personal life to other people, but he is willing to help people he likes. In the end it's easy to like him because he's very dedicated to his relationships.

Backstory

Zev never knew his earthling father and he was an illegitimate child and his drunnaki mother raised him by herself to the Drunnaki beliefs. Zev felt he didn't belong to either drunnaki or the earthling culture - he didn't look like a drunnaki, but his native language and mother gave it away he wasn't part of the earthling folk.
When he met an earthling woman Mariana whom he married and was able to blend into the Earth folk society by taking his wife's last name, he finally felt he was a part of something. They had two kids and Zev was doing some security jobs and life was pretty good... until Mariana convinced the whole family to join a group that assured they had found a way to fight the Echo. Turned out they were a proper cult crazed from the Echo, and Mariana had got Echoed, too, and she prepared Zev and the kids to be sacrificed to the Echo. Zev managed to escape, but was badly wounded and couldn't erase the sight of his dying kids from his mind.
He moved to another city and took a job as a city guard and never spoke about what happened to him. When he found out a drunnaki guy called Nik was somehow able to slip into the city even though he had gotten Echoed, Zev was ordered to make sure he wouldn't be a threat to the citizens.

Extra info

• In Drunnaki culture the birth name is sacred, and it's an immeasurable honor when a drunnaki tells their name. Zev is just trying to separate himself from his birth culture, so he doesn't care about his actual name, and he avoids talking Drunnak, even with the drunnaki people.

Trivia

• Created in 2020 on a whim - I was thinking about my old Echo (or Glow as I called it earlier) story, and after creating Nik I felt I needed a character with a totally different personality than Nik.
