Profile
Cain "Gold" Maple
Summary
A pokemon trainer who lives mostly in Johto after emigrating from Orre in his early teens. He started training pokemon quite late (at 17) and has been traveling for several years now, helping his team improve and beginning to pick up pokemon research as a side gig. He's cocky and confident, but overall kind-hearted and always willing to help out. Being half mew, he's inherited some pretty potent psychic powers as well as the ability to transform into a pokemon form and speak most pokemon languages. In his particular au he fills the role of Gold/Ethan in the HG/SS plot but also travels to several other regions post championship.
Gold is disabled due to a car accident that occurred when he was 9; he travels almost everywhere on the back of a tauros who was trained especially to carry him around safely.

Known Moves
Pokémon
Pyra •
Typhlosion • Adamant, likes to fight
Pyra was given to Gold as a cyndaquil by Professor Elm, in return for Gold running an important errand for him. They bonded quickly and it soon became one of his powerhouse pokemon. It spent much of its time as a cyndaquil huddled in his hoodie pocket, and still attempts to shove its head into it on occasion.
Fabelle •
Clefable • Naughty, proud of its power
Fabelle is Gold's oldest pokemon, given to him as a gift by his mother as a clefairy when he was 6. It is playful even in the middle of battle, often taunting other pokemon if it feels they're not trying hard enough. Fabelle has a habit of letting itself out of its pokeball to bother Gold and/or people around him.
Twinkle •
Ampharos • Modest, often lost in thought
A sweet-natured pokemon Gold captured near Violet City, who has become a staple of his regular team. It's a little prone to spacing out, sometimes even mid-battle, but can be a real threat when focused. It particularly likes apicot berries.
Vivi •
Espeon • Timid, very finicky
Gold received Vivi from Bill after helping him fix an issue with Johto's pokemon storage system. He chose not to evolve it right away, choosing to take advantage of its typing to take on Morty's gym. It later evolved into an espeon and was instrumental in Gold's strategy to defeat Clair.
Grace •
Togekiss • Modest, alert to sounds
Grace was originally entrusted to Gold as an egg, and hatched shortly before he reached Azalea Town. While Gold was originally going to return it to Professor Elm, Elm acknowledged that Grace had become very attached to him and allowed him to keep it. Grace quickly became a team staple with its ability to prevent opponents from attacking.
Dinah •
Donphan • Adamant, quick tempered
Dinah was captured as a phanpy on Route 46 early in Gold's journey, but wasn't consistently on his team until Olivine, where it made itself very useful against the steel type gym leader. It's very dependable, if a little bit grumpy. Fabelle especially likes to tease Dinah when it's out and about.
Raia •
Ho-oh • Adamant, proud of its power
Probably the most dangerous of Gold's main team, but also the most rarely used; Raia was captured in an encounter atop the Bell Tower after a long, tiring battle. It is haughty and self-assured, and tends to refuse to fight weaker opponents if faced with them. A battle against an opponent it sees as worthy is an event to be relished, and it's not uncommon to see Raia dragging more extreme battles out to prolong the fun.
Taro •
Tauros • Gentle, good endurance
Taro is a specially trained assistance pokemon, exempt from the six pokemon rule but legally unable to battle. It serves as Gold's "legs", helping him to adventure throughout the world without relying on a wheelchair, which would have limited range in a world with few sealed paths between towns. Taro is exceptionally well-trained, and rarely succumbs to the anger typical of its species-- its rider needs it to be as focused as possible, and it takes this job very seriously.
