Rhea "Megrez" Leyton (FFXIV)

Copypasta'd from my briefing file on her because I'm tired: Rhea is her world’s Warrior of Light, with all that entails. She has defeated primals, dragons, bonkers princes, and Emet-Selch, and she’s gearing up to slap Zenos and that prancing prat Fandaniel come next expac. ...Well, she would be, except she’s probably having a baby between 5.5 and Endwalker. Oops?

Before officially starting her adventures in Eorzea, Rhea lived in Skatay with the rest of her Veena Viera brethren, and she was one of the most prominent vigilantes against Garlean incursions. Her propensity for being incredibly noisy during her attacks earned her the epithet of “Forest Siren,” a name that might still be whispered in some corners even to this day. One day, a betrayal broke her spirit and convinced her that the fight was no longer worth it. She cut her hair, swapped her knife for spellcasting (arcanima), and took a boat to Limsa Lominsa.

In the beginning, she did the adventuring thing to earn her keep and learn the lay of the land. Over the course of her adventures, she met a few like-minded friends and established Ciela Haven, a community for those who wanted to start their lives over as she had. Her sister Luca and local cat-dad T’melva currently run the place while she’s doing Important Plot Things. As Important Plot Things went on, she dropped her spellbook for a machinist’s arm (briefly, as it was “borrowed” from T’melva), then switched that for dancer chakrams, as the the thrown weapons were reminiscent of her old fighting style without coming too close.

Though Rhea had gotten over her knee-jerk anger reaction to Garleans, she was more than ready to kick every single important Garlean in the face when she and the Scions were soul-napped to the first. She walked in intending to slap the Exarch, do what he asked, and leave, but she immediately derailed everything by shaking him so hard that his hood came off. Therefore, she knew his identity long before everyone else did.

Her time in the First boiled down to canoodling with the Exarch between plot points (except for the Post-Mt. Gulg Angst Panic). She often encouraged (read: badgered) him to take care of himself, sending food from her travels back to the Ocular and even recruiting Alisaie to make sure he was eating and resting properly while she was away. The crux of their relationship revolved around those feelings of care and security, and when he crystallized, she was devastated… even if it wouldn’t be long before she saw him again.

Nowadays Rhea and G’raha are very much a couple, prone to getting mushy and bringing out the pet names, much to the mixed humor and chagrin of the other Scions. She loves to tease him, and he soaks in all her affections. She ends up getting pregnant and having her first daughter, Noa, at some nebulous point between 5.5 and Endwalker.

Personality-wise, Rhea is very warm and affectionate even though she likes to tease. When threats come into play, she sharpens up and fights with every drop of strength. Particularly dramatic incidents have brought out a brutal side to her that she hoped she would never have to deal with again.

As a side note, “Megrez” was an alias last name used when she was first in Eorzea to further distance herself from her past. It stuck, to a degree.

Yes, she loves collecting egg things. Ciela Haven's sister location in Shirogane, Soreil Haven, has more egg decorations than it should rightly have...
