Crystla DeRuxo

Crystla is very timid and has a hard time opening up to people. Faer quick to trust and will follow without question, and often won't speak a word. Faer very reserved and keep faer thoughts to faeself, which can often lead to misunderstandings. Fae tend to have strong opinions on things but don't speak up out of fear. Fae don't like leaving problems unsolved and have a determined streak that seldom shows, and also has an aversion to violence. Fae suffer from haemophobia and avoid combat as much as possible; fae share this trait with Chadjaska. In general Crystla is very airy and loses focus very easily, making it difficult to learn new magic and master the Toxin element. Fae're clumsy and tend to be bad at executing decisions and choices fae plan out in faer head. Nothing fae try really ever seems to go to plan so fae rely heavily on others to make decisions and make sure they're executed right. Fae aren't confident at all and don't stand up for faerself; this really becomes an issue when faer alone or separated from the group. Fae won't correct people when they get faer pronouns wrong because fae feel bad for telling someone they're wrong, and tends to not voice any negative opinions. Fae've learned to accept things for what they are and take everything in faer stride, no matter how much fae want to cry. And fae cry a lot.

Crys's desperate want to belong is a driving force in faer life, as fae've never really had a proper home. Fae lived with faer grandparents and younger brother for a long time, but knew faer grandparents couldn't afford to support both kids. Crys offered to go to a boarding camp to make things easier on them, assuring them everything would be fine. Upon learning fae were part of the Dragon Laska Crys was driven to support faer family and make sure Raekii could achieve his dream of becoming a dragon rider. Family is very important to Crys as fae feel fae'll never repay what faer grandparents have done for faers.

Crystla's control over the Toxin element is very limited as fae're scared of learning things that will hurt other people. Fae're a pacifist and avoid conflict as much as fae can, which is difficult to do as the Dragon Laska. Frixy is more of a driving force here, and is patient with Crys as she knows fae hold a lot of potential. Crys mostly wants to learn healing and detection magics to ensure the team is safe and healthy. Toxin users can learn medicinal magic, however it's a lot harder to master than Icicle or Water; the two main healing magics. Frixy is a strong believer in Crystla's strength and supports faer endeavour to become a medic. Fae've already shown prowess in detection magics and can remove toxins and bad materials from someone's body. Although fae can't watch, detection magics don't have to rely on sight and can be completed without the user physically seeing what's going on. This is a difficult ability to master, however, and Crys has little confidence fae can actually learn it. In combat, when fae have to, fae use a bow and arrow, coating the arrowheads in toxins with different effects. The most common is one that paralyses the target in the main area hit, such as the leg or back. Although fae hate doing it, fae know it's for the better good.

Being of Arca descent causes Crystla to be the victim of a lot of ridicule and racism. Faer people came from a distant land without magic and were forced to adapt to Zutastek's ways, and as a result were turned away by most countries. Magic affected them in ways no one had seen and left the entire race very vulnerable to Estion; Black Magic. Most Arca are seen as Consumed and are shamed or attacked as a result. Crys takes it all in faer stride but wishes faer race didn't affect the way people see faers. Arca have many abilities other races in Zutastek don't, such as being able to see in the dark. They have excellent eyesight and work very well at night. Although it's harder for them to master magic, Arca take on physical traits of their elements in a similar way to Havilini dragons. If Consumed their eyes will turn a solid colour that matches their element, their hair can change colour and crystal formations can grow from their bodies. Although Crys is unaffected by these, faer eyes and hair have turned a deeper purple since fae took up magic.
