Story

Byeong-Yun was born to be an idol. His mother had decided this from the moment of his birth. He would be the "glorious sunlight" that would shine on South Korea. His mother, Jeong-Hui was an idol herself in her younger years. Until she stepped down in order to announce and give birth to Byeong-Yun. No longer chaste, she would be removed from the entertainment industry. Instead, Byeong-Yun would become an idol in her place. She would become a manager and raise her son to be the icon of a Korean idol. His physical appearance, education, and social life was in the hands of his mother. And Byeong-Yun would follow without debate. At 16, he would debut as solo idol, taking the nation by storm and spreading internationally as a star. Just as he was always meant to.

Byeong-Yun hated this life. To be an idol is to be locked in corporate chains. The attention could never make up for the loneliness he felt. To not be able to attend school. To not be able to make friends. To not even be able to work like a normal person. This is not the life he wanted. So, at 22, Byeong-Yun built his resolve. He was leaving. As a sign of his change, he dyed the underpart of his hair mint. A color his mother would hate to see on her sunshine son. The backlash was immediate. Record labels would close for him, Jeong-Hui would scold him and punish him. And with pride, he would watch his world shatter. However, his mother would make moves to put him back on the scene, ordering him to fix his appearance. He refused. This would continue for months until Byeong-Yun became tired of his mother's control, and at long last, gathered his belongings and fled South Korea, leaving behind shattered chains.

Current

Byeong-Yun then moved to America and struggled for months. Due to his upbringing, he is able to speak accented English, yet not much else. He had never worked and had never had to gain skills other than music and dance. That was all he had. With leftover wealth, Byeong-Yun purchases a guitar and freelances his works, rooming with a stranger who also seemed to be in a hard place. Days would pass while he thinks about his life and how much he misses his homeland. How much he misses Seoul. His image would spread in the west and he would be recognized. Of course he would. Word of Korea's popstar reappearing in America after his dissappearance in Korea's entertainment industry would be spread worldwide. Yet, America is much more welcoming. He is signed to a new label as an American idol. Despite his attempts to escape, he would once again become an idol in America, being loved throughout the country. But... it's not bad here. He has more freedom here. Freedom to be himself while doing what he does best.

Byeong-Yun is infamous for being an idol who rose to top charts twice in two different debuts and two different countries. He has since accepted that he cannot escape is life as an idol. However, we welcomes being an idol in America with open arms. When Jeong-Hui gets word of her son continuing hs work in another country, she demands his return. Byeong-Yun will never return to the Korean Entertainment scene. He will be an idol of his own terms. No one will take away his freedom.
