Profile

Cassius used to work as the royal mage. He worked closely with the king, having grown up with him since birth. The two would have trusted each other with their lives, but things have a habit of changing. The king began summoning spirits. At first it was to better protect the kingdom, and at first it worked. More spirits were summoned, despite Cassius's warnings against such. Not all spirits were kind, and the evil ones refused to return when no longer needed. They whispered to the king almost non-stop, offering him ill advice and council. The king began to destroy the lands, building weapons against enemies that did not exist. Cassius was loyal to the king, but was more loyal to the kingdom itself.

Fleeing the castle, he gathered a small group together to revolt against the king. It's not an easy task, as the king still controls his vast military. Cassius and his ragtag group mostly live in hiding, but they are not without their resources. On his end, his magic is vast and powerful. Cassius knows numerous spells and uses them to his advantage. He is also in possession of a magical item known as the case of artifacts. The glass case contains a hundred little objects such as rings, coins, and stones imbued with magic of their own. It is something that the king desires most of all as urged by the spirits. However, the case needs to be freely given over, or its magic is useless to anyone else.

Cassius will do anything he can to do what he feels to be the right thing, and at times that might lead him to being cruel. He's a calculating individual, and places logic over feeling. He is also a planner, and will have dozens of plans in place before any action is taken.

The tattoos on his arms are a mark of the royal mage and has been passed through his family line for many generations. Cassius regrets rebelling against the king, but he sees no other choice. He will not allow the kingdom to be destroyed, and if that means going against his ruler and liege, then so be it.
