In this story, Hedi is already 30 years old, Law is 36, and Edan is 6.

Once in winter, the Heart Pirates decided to visit the winter resort island to have fun on New Years holidays. The Law's family wanted to relax together for a couple of days, so they wanted to start the second day of their stay there with breakfast on the veranda in a cafe. The weather was good and the temperature was comfortable enough to eat hot food outside. When they were ready to start their meal, Hedi spotted a little girl out of the corner of her eye, staring at them from the other side of the street. She looked about 3-4 years old, and she herself was in shabby old clothes, in shoes unsuitable for winter weather, while completely without a hat and other warm clothes needed in such weather. The baby also looked a little emaciated, and therefore, with hunger in her eyes, she looked at a married couple with the child, who decided to have breakfast with hot and delicious food. Hedi got worried and Law noticed the worried look of his wife and asked what was the matter. The woman very carefully asked him to look at the little girl who was watching them. Trafalgar looked at her without turning his head and continued to listen to Hedi, who in turn expressed her concern. After all, the child was clearly hungry, and in general, why this girl of this age is generally alone?

Edan also listened to his mother's words, and while she was talking, the boy taking his bun from the table and going to the little stranger. This action surprised Hedi and Law, but they decided not to disturb their son and just watch him. By this time Edan had come to that girl and handed her his bun, at which she looked at him a little confusedly. At that moment, the boy said that if she wanted, she could take it, he didn't mind. He could also wait a little for her decision, and as a result, the stranger hesitantly accepted his gift and, with some caution, began to eat. Edan also asked her name and the girl named herself Ella. Then the son of the Surgeon of Death took her by the hand and resolutely led her to his parents. Hedi was delighted with the kindness and courage of her son, and she herself would think that it would probably be really better if not she, an adult woman, but a child, would come up to her, so as not to frighten an already hungry girl. Law decided to just watch what happened next.

Edan made Ella sit next to him and Law's wife decided to get to know the little stranger better. She introduced herself to her and invited her to eat with them, asking what she would like. However, such a question made the girl confused, because she doesn't know at all what exactly she can eat. She doesn't know the names of the dishes, and in general she hasn't seen good food in fact in her 4 years. Hedi will understand this and then will decide to give her his soup, assuring that she hasn't eaten it yet, but she is sure that her little friend will like it very much. Ella hesitantly looks at the plate, completely not understanding whether this is happening in reality or she is dreaming of all this. But in the end, the baby takes a spoon with some effort and begins to eat. Hedi decides to order herself something else.

During the meal, the little girl suddenly starts crying and the whole family notices. Hedi excitedly asks her what happened, and she will just wipe away her tears and say that she doesn't know, but she just feels happy. These words touch the woman and she will decide a little later to ask her who she is and what she is doing here alone. As soon as Ella eats and calms down, Hedi decides to ask her questions. The girl will tell her that she has no parents and she lives with her older brother and sister. They live anywhere, and they themselves survive by stealing food, money, and also asking for alms. Ella hasn't seen another life, although she doesn't really like such a life, but she cannot do otherwise, because in this case her siblings will be angry with her and even hit her, so she doesn't want to anger them. However, the baby admits that she ran away from them and doesn't know where to go and what to do, but she doesn't want to return to them. Hedi was very upset about this story, and Law didn't say a word during all this time. Although, despite the external coldness, the man pondered Ella's words, because at some point he recognized himself a little in her. The fact is that once in childhood he himself was left completely alone on a winter island without food and shelter, and also fought with his illness. Meanwhile, Law, as a doctor, noticed that Ella periodically coughs and is clearly ill, so this became an additional factor for the man to notice the similarities with his story.

However, at that moment their friend was called out and she even shuddered when she heard a familiar voice. Two teenagers approached them: the boy and the girl of 14-17 years old. The girl roughly grabbed Ella's hand and said that they were leaving. She feigned apology to the pirates, stating that her sister would no longer interfere with them, and she quickly took the child with her, along the way scolding her and asking not to be seen by any strange types. At the same time, it was heard how the older relatives called Ella a fool, since she decided to run away and live on her own, hoping that some idiots would help her just because she was sweet and defenseless. Hedi was outraged by this behavior and she wanted to get up and intervene, but Law's hand stopped her. She turned to him in surprise and asked why he was stopping her, but his answer cooled the woman's ardor. He said that and how she would help her, she is, in fact, no one to this girl and they cannot interfere in someone else's family and life, especially when they are unlikely to be able to help her with anything. As a result, Hedi will sit back in her place, but she will not feel comfortable, because she would so much like to help little Ella, but she perfectly understands that, in fact, she will not be able to do anything for her.

That same evening, Ella again heard ridicule from her siblings. These two were unhappy with the girl's behavior and considered her once again stupid, since she decided to run away from them again. These children lived in a dilapidated house, they had almost no furniture, and the house was not heated. They didn't have enough money for anything and they could hardly feed themselves, and even more so for a small child. Their parents were also thieves and criminals, so they taught their older children everything bad. They themselves died after an unsuccessful theft, so now their children were alone and in fact lived just like their parents. However, Ella didn't remember her mom and dad, and therefore she doesn't have that bad upbringing that was given to her older relatives. The girl herself soon went to bed on the cold floor, covered herself with an old blanket, dreaming that she would have a mother like Hedi.

The next day, the Trafalgar family went to rest again. Hedi was still uncomfortable after yesterday's situation and so she tried to look for Ella and see her to make sure she was okay. At some point, she really finds a girl who was standing alone on the same street and begging for alms. The baby came here hoping to see Hedi, which is what happened. The pirates decided to greet her and the woman noticed that the girl didn't feel good, and that she also had a small bruise on her cheek. Law had noticed her not feeling well the last time, but now it was worse. He sat down in front of the girl and silently put his hand to her forehead, and he immediately realized that she had a high fever, and her cough became more severe than yesterday. At that moment, he still couldn't leave her alone, so he told his family that they should take her to the submarine in order to somehow alleviate the girl's condition, otherwise it could lead to sad consequences. Law also told Ella that he is a doctor and that he wouldn't hurt her, so she had to go with them. The girl didn't mind at all and soon they found themselves on the Polar Tang.

After a while, the girl lay with intense fever in a warm bed, and Law before that examined her and gave her the necessary medicines. He himself, sitting at his table, quietly examined the girl. The man remembered himself again and noted that they both have a similar fate. Both were seriously ill, both were left alone without their parents, both are trying to survive on the winter island. All these thoughts led him to deep reflections and in the end he decided to go on deck for a while and freshen up. At that moment, Trafalgar stared out at the ocean, breathing in the familiar cold air and feeling the touch of slowly falling snow on his body. The Surgeon decided to light a cigarette and rethink this situation, while he himself in his thoughts asks his savior:

- Cora-san, what would you do in my situation?

At this moment, he will remember how Rosinante just decided to help him and took Law with him, looking for help among doctors. Then they were not good friends, but this didn't stop Corazon and now Trafalgar is alive and he has his own family in addition to the crew. If not for him, Law wouldn't have had anything. This thought stuck in his head for a long time and Hedi interrupted his thoughts. She awkwardly starts a conversation, saying that since they can't help Ella in any way, they might just take her away and find her a new family. However, she was interrupted by Law, who says no, they take the girl with them and she will be with them. These words will surprise the woman, because she thought that her husband was against accepting the child into their crew, but Trafalgar decides to share his thoughts on this with his wife. Law will also inform her that he must act like Corazon sometime, to which in the end his wife will agree with him and they will think to discuss this issue with Edan.

The next day, Ella felt much better, and then Hedi, along with Edan, offered the girl to spend this day together. They also said they wouldn't tell her family about where she was or what she was doing. Thanks to this, the girl agreed, although she doubted that it was worth doing it. This day they will spend quite fun and cute, Hedi will also buy new warm clothes for Ella, which she chose for herself. Although the girl awkwardly asks later that she now owes them money for this. However, the woman will only laugh, saying that the girl doesn't owe her anything, as she does it with all her heart. Moreover, they are pirates and they do what they want. Little Ella liked these words and they stayed in her head for a long time. Now she thought about wanting to be a pirate, and even the most free one. She liked the thought so much that for the first time she smiled and laughed sincerely, dreaming that she would go to sea and see the whole world.

At that moment, Law with Penguin, Shachi and Bepo were looking for Ella's relatives and as soon as they found their house, they immediately entered it. The girl's siblings were not there, so the pirates decided to wait for them, examining their home and sitting comfortably on old chairs. A couple of hours later, the teens came and they were scared to see strangers in the house. They were also aggressive and therefore immediately asked the strangers what they wanted. Law calmly explained to them that he was taking Ella with him, so they should completely forget about her existence. This angered them, because how can they give them their sister, who, although she caused them problems, but brought a good income. Law immediately realized that the problem was money, so he asked his nakamas to throw a few bags of Belly on the table, which were enough for the guys to live well for a couple of months. The teenagers have never seen such an amount of money and therefore not immediately, but will agree to calmly give them Ella.

After a while, Hedi's walk with the children came to an end, as the girl was worried that her siblings had not seen her for a long time, so she asked her new friend and Edan to bring her home. The baby herself really didn't want to part with them, but she understood that she had to return. However, when they approached her house, they saw that the Heart Pirates was already waiting for her. She was surprised at their presence, but before she could ask them anything, her sister told the girl that she no longer lived here and therefore might not even enter the house. Ella began to panic, because where she was going to live now, but she was reassured by Hedi, who would squat down beside her, take her by the arms and ask that maybe then she would go with them. This question made the baby happy that she couldn't even hold back her tears. She could only nod and give her consent, which greatly moved Hedi. The girl hugged her tightly and took her in her arms, and she began to cry too.

On this day, Law and Hedi found their second child, and Edan their sister. Ella finally met loving parents, whom she had long dreamed of, so for her now they are her real family and she is no longer afraid to live in this big and harsh world. She found her home.
