Romeo was born in the mermaid kingdom, and raised in a very high class family. Romeo was always a handsome boy, those he knew often commented on his appearance, mostly good things. But despite all the compliments from everyone he knew, Romeo grew up shy and reserved, lacking self esteem. The voices in his head told him how awful he was, exagerated every little wrong feature about him, and Romeo hated it. Romeo was popular in his schooling, mostly because of his appearance, and he hid his inner turmoil with a charming grin and very few words. But everything changed when Romeo met Iara. Iara was the only person that didn't have any interest in Romeo. She would swim by him, not saying a word. And Romeo developed a huge teenage schoolboy crush on her. Romeo recently had a breakup with his past boyfriend Beckett, and meeting this girl thrust him into a new love filled frenzy. Whatever he did, Romeo couldn't seem to catch her attention. Romeo dove into his family's treasury, discovering something he never knew existed: a wishing pot. Romeo whispered his one wish into this pot, to have Iara love him.
