• Style: Corin honestly does prefer fashionable clothes, although good luck getting him to admit that. While he mostly dresses practical for whatever he's going to be doing for the day, clothes that allow for easy movement are a must. He also likes to wear layers so he can adjust throughout the day based on the weather.

Relationships

• Relationship with Tierno: Corin has a very strong relationship with his father. Growing up, Tierno was generally the one who would look after him and his siblings, and due to this, Corin picked up a lot about Pokemon performances and dancing from him. While Corin certainly enjoys dancing of all types, he enjoys it more in the sense that he loves to dance himself, not so much that he loves the dancing of Pokemon. While he'll sometimes act a bit embarrassed about Tierno's passion for Pokemon dancing, deep down he deeply admires how his father found something he felt so strongly about and continued to pursue it despite the obstacles.
  
  As a child, Corin would commonly watch his father teaching choreography to people and Pokemon and later try to mimic the moves himself. Once he felt he had them down well enough, he would show off the moves to Tierno, who always showered him with compliments, regardless of whether he actually had them down or not. If Corin was ever really off, Tierno would play it off as Corin having discovered a new, even more impressive dance move, and the two would come up with increasingly elaborate names for the new move.

• Relationship with Calem: Calem is the calm, gentle parent, having mellowed out with age. While Corin doesn't have as many common interests with Calem, the two have somewhat similar personalities, both being fairly even-tempered. Calem is the parent Corin will seek out if he ever needs advice on anything other than dancing, and Corin gets his passion for competitive battling from the times he would watch Calem battle. While Calem ends up becoming a research assitant for Professor Sycamore and doesn't do much competitive battling as a result, on the occasions he does battle, he's just as powerful and fierce as he was during his prime.

• Relationship with Casimir: Corin and Casimir have a bit of a distant relationship, although they are cordial with each other when they do have to interact. When they were younger, the two had a much closer relationship, Corin looking up to Casimir as his cool older brother. While Casimir never cared much for dancing, the two bonded over their common love for Pokemon, often coming up with fake battle scenarios between the two of them, or pretending they were explorers, searching the world for new, undiscovered Pokemon (which often entailed dressing up one of their parent's Pokemon in some ridiculous outfit and 'discovering' it wherever they happened to be playing that day). As they grew older though, Casimir stated to pull away from his family, and their relationship became more strained. While Corin holds no ill will towards Casimir and would like to be close again, Casimir is the one who tends to shrug off his attempts to interact. In truth, Casimir is unbearably jealous of Corin, and get's to a point where he doesn't think he can interact with him brother without lashing out at him.

 Personality

Corin is a fairly even tempered person. He's typically quite cheerful, but is also the 'sane-man' of the group, often getting exasperated at the antics of Lotte and Armel, his two main traveling companions. In truth, most of his exasperation is an act, since he tends to think fondly of both of their quirks. If someone doesn’t try to keep them in line though, who will? This reflects on another aspect of Corin's personality, his easy acceptance of others, whatever their faults may be. Baring outright cruelty, there are very few things about a person Corin isn’t willing to accept, although this has the effect of making him more lenient than he should be. Even Lotte’s constant manipulation of others doesn’t bother him unless it seems like it’s getting to the point someone might actually be hurt.

Despite being even-temptered most of the time, Corin can also become very passionate about things he's interested in or cares about. He has an intense love for dancing, and while he tends to downplay just how much he loves it around others, it can't help but shine through in his actions. He's constantly striving to improve himself, and part of the reason he and Lotte are such good friends is because she's one of the few people who can relate to his passion for dancing. They have a friendly rivalry of sorts, trying to show the other up, although they're just as likely to perform together as they are to perform as opponents. The initial reason Corin traveled to Hoenn to enter contests was because it reminded him of dancing, but in the end, he comes to enjoy competitive battling more. He decides it's not his Pokemon performing that he has a whole lot of passion for, and that battling is more his style. He still keeps up his dancing on the side and enters contests on occasion to try out his skills (as well as challenge Lotte), but shifts his focus to challenging gyms.

Relating to his passionate side, whenever Corin starts to feel too strongly about anything not related to dancing, he's prone to getting extremely flustered about it. He's fine being known as the lowkey guy with a love for dancing who travels with the eccentric Lotte and Armel, but when it comes to other things, it makes him unsure on how to act. He's particularly bad on anything related to love, not handling having a crush on anyone very well. When he likes someone, he can't help but feel very strongly for them, quickly entering the "passionatily in love" stage. It makes him a stuttering mess, torn between wanting to avoid the person to avoid embarrasing himself and seek them out just to see them again. Luckily for everyone, it's very rare for him to develope feelings for someone.

When it all comes down to it though, at his core, Corin is a very protective person. He's the one in the group that comes across as unassuming and fairly average, but mess with someone he cares about and he'll quickly shift into fight mode. While it might have the effect of making him seem very hot or cold, since he’s so often lenient with most things, it’s more that he stands very strongly for anything he feels passionate about. Corin’s a fairly decent fighter, both with his Pokemon and in person, as despite his small build, he has a lot of strenght and endurance from all of his dancing.

 Trivia

• - Corin's name means 'spear.' His name is a leftover remnant from the original AU he and his older brother were conceived in. Casimir is the omega brother, the one of royal lineage, while Corin is the alpha brother and the one designated to protect him. He is Casimir's literal and figurative spear. In the normal AU, the name is more indicative of his protective nature. He's the spear that will fight for and defend his friends and family.

• - Corin was designed before I had an endgame ship for Calem in mind, thus his appearance is based almost exclusively on Calem's design, with the idea he would inherit the eye color of whoever his father ended up being.

• - The other main candidate for his father before Tierno/Calem became endgame was Professor Sycamore, as Calem ends up working as a lab assistant for Sycamore and both have a complicated relationship with Lysandre. A Sycamore!Corin would have a fairly similar personality to Tierno!Corin, but would have been much more interested in observing Pokemon in their natural habitat. He would have written journals about the Pokemon he observed while on his journey. He and Casimir would have also remained close, as Casimir wouldn't have developed as much of a complex over Lysandre being his biological father, since Sycamore would have been much more open to discussing Lysandre with him.

• - Corin's best friend is Lotte, Serena's and Trevor's youngest daughter. Tierno would typically look after Lotte and Trish while the kids were growing up, and through that, Lotte and Corin spent a lot of time together. They bonded over their common love of dancing, as well as the fact Corin typically isn't bothered by Lotte's 'extreme' personality.

• - Corin has a massive crush on Lucas and Barry's son, Colm, and becomes a stuttering mess whenever he interacts with him. Once Corin and Casimir start to repair their relationship, an initial topic of discussion for them is Colm, as Corin wants to know as much about him as his brother is willing to share, and Casimir finds is funny Corin is attracted to such an aloof boy. Casimir is rooting for Corin though, amd he makes a lot of subtle attempts to set the two up.

• - As a child, Corin would often challenge Tierno to dance offs. While it was always fun and games between the two of them, once Corin is older, Lotte will sometimes challenge him to a dance off between the two of them. While this is typically done mockingly on her part, both take the competition seriously as neither of them like to back down from a challenge.

• - Corin originally travels to Hoenn with Lotte to compete in Pokemon contests, since it seemed natural to put into practice what he learned from his father. While he does well enough in contests, he ends up challenging one of the Hoenn gyms on a whim, and finds he has much more of a passion for competitive battling than contests. He still participates in contests on occasion, particularly because it lets him compete with Lotte, but he shifts his focus to collecting gym badges to challenge the Pokemon League.
