History

Seimei is a white tiger spirit who resided in a far corner of Etheirys, where no "human" inhabitants live. 

Seimei met Asteria by chance when they were roaming the realm in accordance to their duty to the seat of Azem. Asteria's strength, paired with the their puzzling manner, made a considerable impression on Seimei. He wished to follow and observe what may come from such a being, and as such formed a contract with them. Upon forming the contract, Asteria is able to supply Seimei with aether, resulting in his new ability shapeshift from large white tiger into a humanoid form. In this new form he possesses superhuman physical strength. 

Etymology

Seimei is a reference to Abe no Seimei, a renouned onmyōji, and alludes to the fact that Seimei becomes a shikigami.
