Damien previously lost hope in life, finding predictability and the likes to genuinely kill his motivation to continue on, but the unpredictability and erraticness of abnormalities has sparked a new passion in his life he can't get enough of. He is obsessed with abnormalities, a phenomenon not consistent and still needing much research to understand. He's very insistent he be the first person to research anything brought into the facility. He seems far more passionate about monsters than associates or the sephirahs. He grows bored of staff and monsters fast if they aren't incredibly difficult to understand.

He's particularly obsessed with Apocalypse Bird, everything in the facility changes in the sheer chaotic presence of it, it is something edging on beyond our comprehension, something he could get lost in for years on end and still not fully understand. He knows the most about the abnormality, but does not disclose all of which he knows, excited to share just tidbits of it to make associates more likely to make the bird present to obtain more information.

Damien has endangered staff knowingly on occasion in pursuit of new knowledge and doesn't seem to feel much remorse for it, stating that what we already understand is meaningless if we don't continue to ask questions and seek answers. Despite his title of Security Team Captain, he holds little concern for the other members' wellbeing, even encouraging the release of O-02-40 and O-02-101 for better observations. Damien’s apathetic actions led him to be seen as cold and dangerous, causing concern within his fellow department coworkers.

Damien has been born and raised inside the Nest, having a comfortably wealthy family and having his education provided for him thoroughly. This life of stability dissatisfied him greatly however, and he grew bored of the lifestyle as he grew. This eventually led him down the road of sneaking out of the house, one night stumbling upon something resembling an abnormality. The spark of curiosity was lit immediately, and he was set on the path of finding more about the creature and its origins. Rather than concern his parents with his growing obsession, he quietly gained his own wealth through unknown transactions, to which he made very thoroughly to leave no trace of his shady trades.

Though the experience was insightful for him, abnormalities in the city were rare, and Damien craved more subjects to gain information about. Once he found out about Lobotomy Corporation, he immediately applied to be an employee. His already established study of abnormalities caused him to get in rather easily. From there on he has asserted himself as an employee, climbing the ranks to Team Captain by his own will to further help his research. This only fueled his obsession however, spiralling himself into his work more and more until the inevitable breach of Apocalypse Bird. Despite the number of clerk casualties led by the breach of this abnormality indirectly caused by Damiens hands, he provided the corporation with an abundance of information of the abnormality that would help in the case of future breaches.
