Horimiya Izumi

"I am no longer alone... they will meet me where I am."

Story. ✰ Horimiya Izumi is a high school student in the second year. While he is very kind and caring, he was bullied a lot by his classmates until he met Yuu, who protected him and scared the harassers away while they were in front of the school gate. Izumi used to be an outsider and to get bullied mainly because of his shyness. He always felt arkward around strangers which made it difficult for him to find friends. In order to cope with his school struggles, he used to harm himself using various methods, including piercing, tattooing and cutting. In time, he nearly became suidicial. However, his insecurity has improved ever since he met Yuu, who encourages him greatly. He gave him the advice to be violent, rude and intimidating whenever he would get in trouble in order to defend himself and scare the bullies away. It makes him feel guilty and uncomfortable doing so, but he surprisingly plays the role very convincingly. As of present, most classmates have become too scared to mess with him. Only when he is confronted with the very first bullies back from middle school, he freezes and reverts back to his helpless, weak old self.

Personality. ✰ Izumi is very friendly, humble, polite, considerate, gentle, timid and especially forgiving. While he has low self-esteem, he does not hesitate to give death threats to harassers if he sees others being bullied - because he now wants to protect others, just like he was once protected. His appearance in school leads his classmates to the illusion that he is intelligent and studious, while in reality he is actually very bad at studying. He has problems understanding and often requires help. He tries to be diligent and to learn, but he tends to fall asleep immediately. Unfortunately, he takes his low scores quite lightly, probably due to his mellow, air-headed and laid-back personality. He enjoys working as a waiter in a small café, as well as coming there as customer in his free time. Izumi especially loves sweet coffee, reading books while listening to Jazz, as well as taking walks and writing letters. He also owns a collection of literature, stationery, stuffed toys and pencils - His most loved brands are Sumikko Gurashi and Rilakkuma. Izumi's only friends are Yuu and Usako who are very valuable to him - he loves spending idle time them. Sometimes he has nightmares which remind him of the miserable times - which makes him realize that he is no longer alone - that he has found precious friends - that he can relax and enjoy his school life now ...
