Backstory
Aruvu lived his thousand years as a solitary foxtopus who enjoyed a life of serenity in a seaside forest. During the days he'd hunt, nap, and play in the turquoise waters and yellow and red marigolds in his forest home. He rarely ventured out of this place, only occassionally visiting the nearby town to enjoy the snacks and festivities of yearly celebrations. Crowded and noisy areas were never his thing, though, so he'd go back home to rest when he'd had his fill.
Personality
Aruvu is not malicious, but he isn't kind either. Like an animal, he hunts to stay alive and never takes more than he needs, but of course, he still has preferences. He does not display the enjoyment in hunting and killing some other intelligent species would, and has a hard time answering when asked why he'd hunt a human. However, Aruvu does enjoy some of the things humans create and only go after humans on a whim. Otherwise, he prefers seafood and boars.
Aruvu is very patient. He does not mind waiting days when it comes to hunting the prey he wants. When interacting with other foxtopi, he does not speak much and would rather listen and give short responses. Despite his blank expression, he does enjoy some interactions. He likes listening to stories, and others singing and playing musical instruments. The only thing that flies over his head is humor. He doesn't understand jokes or "funny" things.
Trivia
- Aruvu's tail colors match those of a marigold.
- Aruvu has numerous scars on his body, but the one on his chest turned into a mouth when he became a kumiho.
- Aruvu's clothing is very old. He wears his clothing until it is too worn out to cover his standing form.
- Aruvu prefers to be barefoot or wear thonged footwear.
- Aruvu prefers to eat female land animals (including humans) but likes the taste of castrated poultry. Admittedly, the latter is a rare treat.
- Aruvu speaks very formally in occasionally outdated speech.
- Aruvu is very nimble in his standing form and ikes to climb trees.
Takeo
[ Partner ]
Aruvu and Takeo have known eachother long before Aruvu became a kumiho. They are extremely close and Aruvu likes to listen to Takeo to talk about his day. Aruvu dotes on Takeo, and isn't quite aware of it himself, and shows his love in odd ways. Although he doesn't understand Takeo's morals at times, or his flustered attitude in his presence, he does care for him deeply. He'll figure it out in time.
Ketsueki Aijin
[ Partner ]
Aruvu hasn't known him as long as he's known Takeo, but he quickly warmed up to the fello Kumiho who seemed much more experienced in life than he was. Aijin was like a breath of fresh air, something new for Aruvu who didn't know much about relationships past frienship and family. Even though Aijin managed stir feelings of annoyance in Aruvu at times, he cares about him deeply.
Paraparan
[ Younger Sister ]
At first, Aruvu was a bit confused by her presence, and at times she was too loud, but he found himself growing attached to her over the years. He enjoys when she sings, but isn't too fond of when she screams and cackles or plays tricks on him. When she started to call him her brother and acted as if they'd been siblings all along, he went with it. To Aruvu, she was a lot like the songbirds in the forest: chirping and at times annoying, but cute and endearing.
