Shadowbroker, sorcerer, spellsword , those familiar with merchants peddling to the higher class may recognize the name of ezra wintermourn, a mysterious tiefling who stepped forward as the heir-apparent to winterhome trading company. their origin and motives are hard to pin down, but one thing about them is known for certain: they are an individual with many connections.
as a person ezra is often seen as level-headed and calculating, forgoing the niceties of noble speech for practical truths. very observant. dry humor, polite but guarded -- they often treat most interactions as business transactions, and dont believe others offer goodwill for goodwill’s sake.
an observant and cold tiefling infobroker. many would describe them as a serious or stoic person due to their expressionless nature. they daylight as merchant heir for winterhome trading company, while their true occupation is as the scion to wintermourn's intelligence agency. their right arm has limited mobility and is covered in lightning-like scars, and they fight in battle using a rapier.
can be prodded into being more playful and snarky. they have a long fuse, not because theyre patient but theyll compartmentalize things until theyre ready to blow. notably, theyre extremely calm under pressure, to the point where they begin to shut down after a while and slow down. perfectionist. not seen as overtly kind, but will orchestrate things behind the scenes to make life easier for others with less power.
- masculine titles preferred if necessary (ie sir, lord, etc)
- smokes, drinks, drawn to vices to self medicate
- there is a cameo choker that they wear at their neck at all times -- many will never see them without it, for reasons they would have to ask ezra about themselves.
- perhaps this is due to their upbringing, but theyre quite talented in dance. they seem to glide across the ballroom with ease regardless of their partner.
- right arm is mobile, but unusable outside of battle due to the repercussions of wild magic coursing through them. experiences dull chronic pain.
- typically navigates life with just one hand, so they avoid laces and lean towards snap buttons on apparel
- due to their life as a noble, they often come across as “expressionless,” though their feelings do show on their face in subtle ways.
Ezra: Whisky sour. I'm hardly considered a stranger to alcohol at this point in my life, but perhaps my fondness for lemons is what factors most into this equation. Subpar bourbon? You can get that anywhere.
Ezra: Fine. Just... fine. It had meant a lot to me in another life, yet there's no point mourning the loss now. Not after how far I've come. Before my pact, I could play the piano -- nothing impressive, really, just a mockery at the keys... but. Perhaps if circumstances had been different... I would still be playing there, at the bar with the open tab.
Ezra: Do you consider this an icebreaker question you can ask just anyone? I don't believe there a person alive who doesn't carry something they'll come to regret, some day. I won't share with you mine. Not where persistent Gods trifling in the matters of man may hear.
