Maarit is an apprentice in magic art. She can often be seen hanging around (and quarreling) with another pupil, Louis. She is hotheaded, very self-assured and also arrogant, especially when it comes to her skill level. This is why she constantly challenges Louis about something (for example about whose pet is better (clearly hers).) Louis doesn't seem to be bothered about that though and they get along nicely.
Maarit's animal companion is a small (but mean) black cat which is always at her side.
