The likable, sociable, athletic and optimistic Kaoru is one who perfectly fits the definition of a trendy youngster. Skateboarding, playing electric guitar, riding a motorcycle, dressing up stylish, goofing around, dragging his friends out to spend time together... Even if a little obsessed over the idea of living all of his days like they're his last, and a little bit absent-minded, there's no doubt that Kaoru's just about the nicest and most encouraging guy you'll ever meet.

- eyes are very dark brown, pretty much black. this color is emphasized by his elongated eyeshape, which gives an impression of eyeliner being worn

- people say that he can be overly feminine, though Kaoru himself isn't fond of these sort of observations

Despite his carefree and joyous personality, Kaoru's also very perceptive and good at reading people's intentions (though he often doesn't show it - so the majority of people perceive him as a little dumber then he actually is...) Maybe this is why he's able to get along with people so effortlessly? Though, many would probably agree that his sense of personal space could be better...
One of Kaoru's brightest characteristics would probably be his self-confidence. He's not afraid to speak his mind, mess up in front of others or do the things he simply wants to do. Sometimes he hast troble understanding why others can't do the same - don't they realise how much they're missing out by holding back..? What's the point of failing to do something that can be never experienced again, and regretting it for the rest of your life ..?
He picked up electric guitar at a very young age, inspired by his dad, who specializes in teaching it. Kaoru rarely misses the chance to show off his skills with the instrument - jamming out just brings him so much joy - and his voice is nicely trained too.
Kaoru's FOMO is partly fueled by guilt of not spending more time with his mother before she suddenly passed. The saying of "live everyday like it's your last" never hit him as hard as it did at that moment. And so, Kaoru wishes to make a positive impact on everyone he meets, whether it's just a friendly 'hello' or helping out in a pinch.
If Viv-aca students were to poll 'Who do you think is the most attractive in school?' Kaoru would probably end up in the Top 5.
Kaoru understands why others may describe him as slightly feminine, but remarks like that still slightly bother him...
Kaoru never expected to meet someone who might even be better than him in terms of electric guitar on a random school day, but here we are... Jam sessions fueled by Kaoru's competitiveness got them quite close, with many Viv-aca students automatically associating them with one another today. Kaoru's quite proud of his accomplishments - that being, able to make Shin comfortable enough around him to draw out his inner thoughts. That's probably why he doesn't mind getting cursed out by him. Probably.
Who said love at first sight isn't real? Well, actually, it took quite a few sights for Kaoru to realize why he always found arguments to spend time with the raven-haired boy. Ah, young love...
Kyo's brash personality and fiery determination caught the underclassman Kaoru's eye very early on. As Kaoru, really, is not that much different, they quickly got along and formed Str. 337 together with Kyo's room mate, Akira.
Kaoru has much respect for his band's leader, despite treating him more as an older brother rather than some kind of authority. It's clear that Kamiya is a honest guy, and is willing to go great lengths in order to preserve their band - so what's there not to admire?
Hikaru friends
Despite Hikaru not attending school for most of his 1st year, he and Kaoru seem to be quite comfortable around each other, and sometimes even forming a little trio together with Shin.
Kaoru and Hikaru do seem to trust one another, often relying on one another to take off any trouble off their minds. It's when they get pretty loud because of their matching sense of humour, that the combo turns out to be quite a headache for those around them. You could even say that, when combined, they make up a grand total of 3.5 braincells...
