Background: His eyepatch and scars give him a fierce appearance, but his kind demeanor betrays this look. Vincent is probably one of the nicest people you will ever meet. Vincent spends most of his time maintaining the lighthouse that he lives in. Besides being a necessity it’s also a way for him to pass the time. This has allowed him to pick up mechanical, plumbing and electrical skills. The light house is located along the coast, 15 miles from the nearest town. His choice to live there was not random or accidental as it was a necessity.

                Vincent was like most kids when he was younger, running around and getting into trouble with friends, although it was all in good fun. He even found that he had an affinity for light based magic which he took in stride. This allowed him to become very skilled with it at a young age. In his spare time he’d also gaze up at the stars which quickly became a passion. Over time he quickly became an expert and could easily tell someone what stars or constellations they were looking at. His absolute favorite was the Azure star which always would appear at random. There never seemed to be a way to predict when it would appear back in the sky but it’s brilliant blue was impossible to miss. Oddly enough it also seemed to appear in slightly different places. He couldn’t really come up with any reasons why as there was information about stars that would constantly change positions. He assumed that it was essentially a very unique celestial body.

 Unfortunately, his normal life would eventually change forever when he met the wrong people. A group of pirates took an interest him and slowly molded him into the perfect tool. His skills at navigating via the stars as well as his mastery of light magic made him a very useful asset. They manipulated his younger years until eventually he was exactly what they needed. Whether it was robberies, heists or shakedowns of ships, his rag tag group was involved. Vincent’s main job was navigating as he knew the stars like no other. His childhood passion had turned into one of his greatest assets. He could tie every constellation in the sky to a land mass,  so instructing the captain on where to steer was easy. This was also why whenever they struck it was on a clear stary night which is how they coined the name the star pirates. Eventually there luck would run out as they raided a ship that they thought would be an easy mark. It turned out that it was an ambush set by authorities. The following skirmish got most of his crew killed or captured. He also lost his eye and received the scars on his nose from this incident as he was fighting with the lieutenant that was there. There raid was also supposed to be timed with an oncoming storm to help them escape, but the skirmish delayed which resulting in both parties being swept up in the fast approaching storm in a matter of moments. This storm was like no other Vincent had seen before. The massive waves and intense winds shredded the vessels leaving them at the mercy of the ocean. It was as if the storm was of supernatural origins. Eventually the ships sank leaving countless people stranded in the water. As he was mercilessly tossed in the violent storm he could make out a bright blue star through a small clearing in the storm. He recognized it as the Azure star, his favorite celestial body. For a moment his mind was calm as he looked up but his harsh reality came crashing back as a large wave barreled towards him.  He begged for help as he was hit and blacked out.    

He was awakened by a bright blue light with a black silhouette. He couldn’t see who it was but he did hear a voice. It told him that it heard his cries for help and only decided to aid him because he was an admirer of the stars. It then went on to explain that although it had saved his life there was to be punishment. He had used to stars to steal and cause harm and as such he would be judged. The voice told him that he may keep his life but, as his punishment on clear starry nights he would change. If he ever laid eyes on Azure star he would change into a beast of the stars and run amuck across the land. If he did ever want to star gaze he had to be extremely careful. Vincent then passed back out and awoke along the shore. He would experience this curse a few days later in a small town. His rampage destroyed most of the town. When he awoke the next morning and realized what he had done he made the decision to isolate himself. He found himself on the other side of the continent at an old lighthouse. The town was looking for someone to take the place of the old lighthouse keeper. Vincent knew it would be the best way to keep himself away from others. Slowly over time despite his best efforts a few of the townsfolk would befriend him. This slowly but surely changed his hardened criminal into a kind soul. He knew it wouldn’t make up for his past sins but maintaining the lighthouse for the town and helping any that knocked upon his door, no matter the time, was a start.

Personality: Vincent is a very kind and warm person. His personality and appearance clash however. He’s always willing to help any lost souls that find their way to the lighthouse. He can be quite the charmer but at the same time something appears to be a little bit off about him. If you were to ask him about his past he would ignore the inquiry as it’s not something he likes to talk about. He absolutely loves stars/star gazing and knows all of the constellations.

Skills/Abilities:

Light Magic expert: Vincent can create small orbs of light, beams of light like a flash light or focused laser and even forge weapons out of light. His most unique ability is wings made of light but this drains a lot of magic. He’s become very versatile with it’s uses.

Azure Beast curse: Cursed by a god of the stars Vincent will transform into a massive blue leopard beast if he lays eyes on the Azure star. In this form he is essentially a feral beast that is fast and powerful. He is even capable of flight in this form. His beast form is also capable of using his light magic but it does so in destructive ways such as shooting a condensed light beam out of it’s mouth.
