The mother of the Morandi twins Azazel and Zorro, Marika is Lionel's fourth wife.
She fell in love with him after he helped save her from another mafia family.

Marika has no criminal background, nor does her family, being a family of dairy farmers from a small town outside of New York.
However her name and looks were very close to that of a future godmother of a mob family... so on kidnapped her, thinking she WAS said future godmother.
They tortured her to try and get family secrets from her that she didn't even know. Then another family kidnapped her from THAT family. Then it happened AGAIN.
Three different families kidnapped her before Natalia Draki, Lionel Morandi, and Richard Diodato stepped in on behalf of the Iverson family, along with the help of a few non-family affiliated criminals, they rescued her.
She has many scars from it, physically and emotionally, and rarely speaks to anyone but Lionel or her sons. Not even the other wives or Gaston... she's slowly starting to talk more around them.
She's also mortified of anyone with a mafia or criminal affiliation that isn't a Morandi, Draki, Diodato, or one of the folks who helped save her.
So mortified, that when a Don accidentally bumped into her on the street, before he could even APOLOGIZE, she squeaked, broke his nose, and ran away.

Having grown up on a dairy farm, she has a love of the outdoors and of animals, especially cows.
Azazel has adopted this adoration of cows, and in fact has a dairy cow he shows as a hobby... no one tell the guys at school-
