HADRIAN KORVIN

HISTORY 

ORIGINS

Hadrian was born into a highly respected and influential werewolf clan knowns as the Korvins. The family in their prime had huge numbers and equivalent power, but due to the bloodbath started by the Lestat family, the Korvins had lost most of their family line - save for Hadrian’s parents and his uncle.

Due to this devastation- the Korvin house now comprises of other lower werewolf families, all hoping to gain the respect and notoriety that the Korvins held just by association. However, just because they aren’t blood related to the Korvins didn’t mean they weren’t treated as family. Hadrian and his parents especially wanted the werewolves within their ranks to feel as if they were a Korvin themselves. 

Growing up as the sole inheritor of the Korvin family meant some high stakes and early responsibilities, but Hadrian never viewed them as burdens but rather a duty that he naturally wanted to fulfill. Thus, his younger years were ones mostly conflict free as he strove for greatness and honor for the family clan. Both his parents were extremely proud and often allowed Hadrian to do as he pleased, knowing their son already sought to uphold and learn the things he needed for survival and success in the future. 

THE ARRIVAL

Hadrian had since climbed the highest peaks of respect and rank long before most had anticipated. The young man even managing to control his shifting on command much earlier than had previously been seen. Now second in command of his own pack for the Korvin clan, Hadrian had found himself with everything he wanted but lacking the closure he sought with the destruction of the Lestat family. 

But, on a particularly dark night, a strange vampire was caught on their lands. Cornered and about to be killed mindlessly by his pack, Hadrian intervened. Bringing the vampiress to his parents, they ultimately decided she would remain with them until they felt she could be trusted. Hadrian would be the one to watch over her, in case anyone got any foolish ideas. During her stay, Hadrian found himself enjoying her company, admittedly more than he should have. However, when she had been given permission to leave, she did so, without so much as a goodbye or a farewell. Her exit left Hadrian in a fit of anger, him believing there had been something there, only to settle on the conclusion she had been using him just until she was able to take her opportunity to flee. The situation left him cold and bitter, unable to explain why it had destroyed him so. 

THE GATHERING

On the other hand, we denounce with righteous indignation and dislike men who are so beguiled and demoralized by the charms of pleasure of the moment, so blinded by desire, that they cannot foresee the pain and trouble that are bound to ensue; and equal blame belongs to those who fail in their duty through weakness of will, which is the same as saying through shrinking from toil and pain. These cases are perfectly simple and easy to distinguish. In a free hour, when our power of choice is untrammelled and when nothing prevents our being able to do what we like best, every pleasure is to be welcomed and every pain avoided. But in certain circumstances and owing to the claims of duty or the obligations of business it will frequently occur that pleasures have to be repudiated and annoyances accepted. The wise man therefore always holds in these matters to this principle of selection: he rejects pleasures to secure other greater pleasures, or else he endures pains to avoid worse pains.
