Solas is a refined and somewhat stern cat.
He practices carromancy (telling the future using wax), and is very serious about it - he believes all other forms of fortune-telling are inferior and hates them with a burning passion.
He also refuses to use anything that was invented beyond the 18th century (although he doesn’t care wether or not the items were made after that point) and keeps a whole colony of bats as pets.
Because of this rather odd behaviour, some have started to believe that Solas is actually a vampire. He's not, of course, he's just eccentric... but he has not refuted the rumors yet, as they are pretty good for business (who wouldn't want their fortune told by a real vampire?)
They also make it a lot easier to get rid of annoying customers, simply by hissing at them very loudly. Though Solas has also been known to sick his bats on particularly stubborn individuals who refused to leave after being threatened.
Don't ask him how long he spent training the bats to do that. He won't tell you.
