Profile
Seth
Once like a bird in a cage, as a child he had been a freedom searching aristocrat. Fate helped him to escape his old life - and he became the assassin Seth Ilves. But did that really set him free...?
On the one side, Seth tries to act tough most of the time and to show as few emotions as possible. While on a mission, he’s mostly only concentrating on the job and nothing else.
He is, on the other side, not really a good conversation partner and gets easily irritated in such situations due to the lack of contact to others in his past (and also due to the way he was raised by Horatio).
So while he might appear as a serious assassin at first, actually, he's more a rather awkward and easily confused 'adult'.
He has a big heart, especially for kids, and doesn't care about money, which seems quite unfitting for an assassin. Nevertheless, thanks to Horatio's training, he became quite effective and successful... But would never accept a job with a child as the target, no matter what.

Trivia
Seth's original name was Austin Salem, yet when staying with Horatio, the latter decided to give him a new identity to not raise any attention. Due to the isolation for several years, Seth eventually got used to his new name and reacts to it as if it had always been his.
He called his dagger "Jusynia".
He hates the smell of lavender with a passion.

Physical build
He is actually really, really thin.
Scars
He has a lot of scars from Horatio's "training". Please take a look at this scar map if you're drawing him. While most are only hardly visible, it might still help!

Items & Skills
Jusynia
A dagger he bought with his first earnings as an assassin. Seth takes good take of it and polishes it everyday to make sure that it stays in its best condition.
Ambidexterity
Thanks to Horatio's... "special training", Seth is skilled at using both his hands equally well.
Climbing
An assassin's essential. Easy to learn, hard to master in speed and effiency - nevertheless he managed to become quite good at it. (His sneaking out of his family house might have also benefitted him.)
High stamina
Seth has a rather high stamina and can endure pain and wounds for quite a while. Same goes for food - a shortage is, especially considering his rather small appetite, only a small problem for him.
Silencing
After having been trained by Horatio for several years, Seth became a succesful assassin. He always tries to go for the quiet and quick kill, yet can also fight if he needs to.
Background
Childhood
Seth originally came from a rather noble family. As the oldest of two children, he already had to fulfil several duties from an early age - and hated it, more than anything. To escape them, he tried to sneak out a lot and was often successful - but was found and brought back after a while. He was always scolded for that but never really punished so he lost the fear of getting back quite fast.
One day when he was 14, he managed to get out again and was wandering through the streets. To not be found easily, he mostly used side roads. It was then when he randomly noticed two men in a dead end. One of the suddenly climbed up the wall and disappeared. It fascinated the boy but he quickly continued to walk - without seeing how the second man collapsed and died. A few moments after that event, he was suddenly pulled into another side road and he could feel cold metal at his throat. It was the assassin from earlier who just wanted to eliminate the witness. But since the boy did NOT actually see the death of the victim, he wasn't really scared and even asked if the other could teach him. The assassin laughed at first, but soon realized his chance: if the boy really had a noble background, and he seemed like that due a ring at the necklace he wore, then he could keep him as a hostage for now and probably use him in an exchange for his life if he'd ever be caught. And so the man agreed, knocked the younger one out and took him with him in his hideout.
The Life of an Assassin
The life with the assassin named Horatio was hard, as he punished him even for the smallest things. "If you don't do what I say or complain about it, I'll kill you" wasn't just a threat, after the first more or less serious injuries he understood it was a promise.
After a few years in isolation and working for Horatio, latter started to train him a little in actual fighting and also murdering. The whole time before though helped to improve his reflexes, as throwing knives as "warnings" indeed had an effect.
He never dared to question Horatio’s ways of treating him as he began to believe that this was ‘normal’ and it was only different within his family because they were nobles. He got slowly used to that thinking and simply adapted his behaviour to fit Horatio’s views. But deep inside, he secretly wished for something else..

Relationships
Horatio
Seth has a high respect for Horatio... or, to be more accurate, he's rather afraid of him. While, due to his treatment, Seth had always been afraid of messing up, ever since a certain incident this fear only worsened, almost ending up as a paranoia.
He tries to avoid conflicts as much as possible and simply follows Horatio's orders to not anger him.
Echia
Echia had saved Seth from certain death, and so he felt endless gratitude towards her. However, that gratitude soon got tainted...
Elenoire
Honestly, he has no idea what exactly his relationship with Elenoire is. From being pulled anywhere, to be ordered around, to getting in trouble for fooling around... Seriously, everything's just a big mess that he -for some reason- just doesn't leave behind (if he even could, which is a whole different topic actually...).
At the same time, Elenoire and her family add some liveliness to his own life, which... almost feels kind of... nostalgic... How weird...
Lawrence
At first, it was impossible for Seth to believe that Lawrence was indeed Horatio's brother. Not only was Lawrence a rather soft man, no, he kept on spoiling him whenever they met in the tavern (which highly annoyed Horatio).
Whether this is all just part of the plan to have Seth join the tavern band is, however, still a mystery and will probably never be solved. Seeing how Lawrence never gives up on that though seems to add to it...
Richard
Back then, these brothers were inseparable. Seth -or rather Austin- was always the more energetic of the two, who'd pull Richard into fun and trouble, yet never going too far. He was always protective of Richard and if anything happened, he always took the full blame. Yet, despite being so close, not even his younger brother was able to stop him from always trying to get outside... and eventually disappearing...
