Locke is a cowardly and paranoid wizard who is tirelessly searching for new and powerful magicks.
When Locke was a child, he lived with his family in a fairly privilaged district in the city of Yewlissia. He wasn't exactly upper class, but he and his family lived happily and comfortably together with only a fair amount of struggle and hardship. Until one day, Locke's family was visited in the night by a stranger. The stranger seemed friendly and curious at first, though his questions gradually shifted from general curiosity to uncomfortably personal. Then, the stranger quickly and effortlessly killed Locke's father, stabbed through the heart. He continued to slaughter the rest of Locke's loved ones with little effort and in an inhuman fashion. Locke stared in horror at the carnage and bloodshed, but the stranger found Locke's terror amusing. He revealed to Locke his true, monstrous form, and burned a single idea into his head.
"Humans are weak. And the weak are the mercy of the strong."
Now an orphan, and realizing that the stranger murdered many other families in the district as well, Locke was taken far away to an orphanage at another city. In this city there was a magic academy. Locke begged the academy to take him in and allow him to study magick, and the request was accepted.
Now, locke's goal is to study magic and become strong so that such a tragedy never happens again.
Though... he seems only to be interested in transmutation magic...
Locke is Riojo's best friend, and for some reason Locke becomes more courageous when around Riojo as well.
