Derana

Derana ( デラナ Derana, Derana in the Japanese version ) is a playable character in Fire Emblem Fates.

Profile

 Derana is Izana and Desire's son. Hoshidan prince, Nohrian prince and heir of Izumo's throne, he's the direct descendant of gods and grandson of the Silent dragon, also being Forrest, Kana and Keina's cousin, a soothsayer, an exorcist and a songster. Like other children of Fates, Derana was placed in Deeprealms to protect him from the war being the lord of a village, for entertain him to his future role. Sometimes, his parents would come to visit and spend time with. 

In his paralogue, Desire and Izana pays his Deeprealm a visit. But meanwhile, Derana had a vision telling his village would be attacked by bandits, wishing to sack villagers and to overthrow him. He so warned most of his inhabitants to run away of the town the faster they can. Answering to an old woman, he said he wants to stay in the village, for warn most persons he can, defeat ennemies in case they attack his folk, and possibly try to calm them. Then, after his words, he's travesting, justifying him women attract more calm and comprehension, and not wanting to be recognized.

Later, Desire and her spouse came to the village for visit their son, but don't find him at the usual meeting location. The mother being worried, she begins to enters in the village. Finally, she finds a bandit troup sacking and destroying it, the chief mugging Derana. The young prince tries to bring back to reason the man, without success. Tired of all these discussions, the chief hurts a young hostage, making Derana absolutly upset and out-of-control, transforming in his dragon form. 

If Desire or Izana talks to Derana before the battle between Derana and the chief, the young heir will remove his disguisment, the chief will immediatly recognize him and will try to kidnap him for to demand a ransom. If Desire or Izana talks to Derana after the battle between Derana and the chief, this last will think Derana is a  young girl and will ask him to give all her money he has, before to reveal to wanting to marry him. 

After the battle, Desire heavily scolds her son to lost his cold-blood and to have taken initiatives without to warn his parents, these acts being able to waste human lifes, and his own by the way. Then, Desire will congrats him for his bravery and his carefulness. For her, he did a lot of good choices, by warning his folk, in the hope of protect them and even fighting invaders for rescue villagers. His father will tell his parents are very proud of him and is in a good way for becoming an archduke. Firstly ashamed, Derana is shown very affected and begs his parents to leave deeprealm, in the hope of becoming better and better. His mother was firstly kicking the idea, but his father answers before her, and happily agrees at this idea.

Personnality

Derana is a serious and down-to-earth teenager. He's quiet and arrogant, not hesitating to joking about persons he finds " useless " . He's also very confident in himself and his capacities, being able to challenge Shigure in a song battle. He's also greedy of knowledge and able to do any sacrifice for to accomplish his goals. He's depicted as lonely and grumpy, like shown in his B-support with Keina.  The young prince also has a sadistic and cruel side, shown for example in his A-support with Shigure, when he's executing a faceless. It's also shown in his B-support with Nina, Derana is a extrem nationalist, with Nina joking about invade Izumo, but Derana, not understanding the kidding, becomes absolutly angry, threatening her to to murder her if she puts ever a foot in his kingdom. This trait of personnality is as well shown in is C-support with Keina, where he quietly says to his cousin he would kill even his friends if any of them would touch to his legacy. 

In reality, Derana hides with this personnality his true one. With persons he loves or is caring, he's happy and overexcited, enjoying cuddling others. In his B-support with Keina, it's also shown he loves to play with dolls. He's as well hiding a caring side, being really worried about his folk or his friends and their happiness. But thinking it would do of him a future weak king, he prefers not to show this. For example, he confesses to Kana in their A-support he refuses to says predictions to others because he's afraid to scare them with bad events and make them sad. In his support with Ignatius, Derana hugs and cuddles his childhood friend, saying he considers him like a very close brother. He also enjoys to say to women he's married with him for tease them and to show his proudness to be friend with Ignatius. 

It also says he loves to do homosexuals shippings, like said in his B-support with Soleil or his C-support with Nina. He has a deep love for his parents, loving to take care of them, being able to say in his supports he would marry any of them if they weren't already married. Derana is as well fascinated by hair, loving to brush it, being able to beg Caeldori to brush hers. In his B-support, Forrest caught him travesting in a female peasant. The only explication Derana was able to give is he loves to travestating and to change of identity, releasing all his stress due to the war.  It is also stated he's able to exorcise with dance, to song and to do predictions. His birthday is February 29th.

Derana comes from a fusion between the name of his parents " Desire " and " Izana " . The " r " also comes from the name of his mother.
