Current Appearance

Hakushou is tall and broad. He has burn scars on his back and left arm, though it's usually hidden under his clothes. Like his siblings he has black hair and blue eyes as well as a mole on his chin.

Personality

Hakushou deeply treasures his loved ones, often prioritizing their well-being over rationality, acting on his impulses in the process. Being a quiet individual, he conveys his care through actions rather than words, showcasing extreme protectiveness that can sometimes come across as overbearing to others.

His reserved nature has persisted from childhood to the present time and Hakushou's quiet demeanor tends to conceal his affinity for excitement and adventure. Surprisingly, he is an adrenaline junkie, finding joy in sparring and seeking out stimuli.

Despite his generally reserved exterior, Hakushou becomes vocal when confronted with what he perceives as wrong. He views the world in a simplistic black-and-white manner and he is quick to express disagreement and correct behavior he deems inappropriate.

Impatience arises when dealing with indecisive individuals, along with his unwavering stance against lying. Hakushou actively advocates for cooperation over harm, frequently reminding others of the importance of mutual assistance.

In the absence of his older brothers, Hakuyuu and Hakuren, Hakushou sought to emulate their qualities back at the Kou Court. A trace of Hakuren's brightness remains in Hakushou's character when he sparring. His character mostly resembles Hakuyuu's serious side.

History

When Hakushou was fourteen, he and his brothers, Hakuyuu, Hakuren, and Hakuryuu, found themselves caught in a large fire during a revolt. Trying to escape the flames, tragedy struck as Hakuren revealed, just before passing away, that their own mother was the cause of the chaos. Amidst the turmoil, Hakushou, determined to protect Hakuryuu, sustained burn scars on his back and left arm during their escape, while the fire left Hakuryuu's face and body scarred.

After the revolt, Gyokuen informed Hakushou, Hakuryuu, and Hakuei that their uncle, Koutoku Ren, would adopt them, maintaining their titles as prince and princess, though ranking below Koutoku's sons. In their times of uncertainty, Hakushou repeatedly reassured Hakuei and Hakuryuu that he would become stronger and protect them forever.

Haunted by the anguish of not being strong enough to protect his brothers, Hakushou wrestled with self-blame. In an attempt to resolve this, Judar extended an invitation to capture a Dungeon and acquire a Djinn, promising strength and resilience. Fueled by a desire for improvement, Hakushou accepted Judar's proposition, resulting in the capture of the 12th Dungeon of Sytry.

Plot

Word spread about Sindria, a newly formed country, piquing Hakushou's curiosity. Eager to explore, he headed there, but his first attempt to meet Sinbad was met with rejection, and he was asked to return after the ceremony. To his surprise, during the ceremony, Sinbad declared war on Parthevia right after officially establishing the country.

Following the clash between Sinbad and Barbarossa, Hakushou sought an audience with Sinbad again, finding him unconscious due to the earlier clash. Upon Sinbad's awakening, Hakushou, introducing himself as the third prince of Kou, expressed his intention to observe Sindria as a potential ally to the Kou Empire. He commended Sinbad's boldness in declaring war right after founding the country.

During a strategic meeting, Hakushou offered his assistance in protecting Sindria, emphasizing his martial arts skills despite lacking a Metal Vessel. He pledged to do whatever it takes to safeguard those who treat each other like family.

As enemy soldiers advanced into Sindria, Hakushou took charge of helping civilians evacuate. In a confrontation, he faced soldiers who seemed inhuman, outnumbering him. When he shielded a child, a mysterious voice offered him the power to protect. Hakushou accepted, awakening the power of Baal on his Three-section staff, becoming a Household Member of Baal. This newfound power allowed him to strike down more soldiers before retreating.

After the bridges were destroyed and everyone retreated to the palace, they learned of the urgent need to escape the island. During the evacuation, dungeon monsters approached, prompting Ja'far to announce that the Eight Generals would protect civilians. During that time, Hakushou reveals his Metal Vessel's power, joining the effort to defend against the impending threat.

Accused of treason for supposedly having a secret alliance with Sindria – his Household Vessel being the proof of it, Hakushou faces a tough situation and is banished from Kou by Koutoku. Despite Hakuei's pleas to let her brother stay, Koutoku remains unmoved, and Gyokuen unexpectedly blames Hakushou for the fire and the deaths of their older brothers. This accusation strengthens the case for his banishment, leaving Hakuei in stunned silence.

Before departing, Hakushou has a private conversation with Hakuryuu. He urges Hakuryuu to keep Hakuei safe and emphasizes the importance of becoming stronger. Hakushou apologizes for his inability to fulfill the promise of protecting his younger siblings.

Cast out from Kou, Hakushou sets out on a journey. Hearing that Sindria has been rebuilt, he decides to visit and seek an audience with Sinbad. In front of Sinbad, Hakushou declares his loyalty and expresses his wish to join Sinbad in working towards a peaceful world.

Hakushou finds himself at a hotel with Ja'far and Masrur, awaiting Sinbad. When hotel guards attempt to remove Sinbad, Hakushou, along with Ja'far and Masrur, intervenes. After the chaotic encounter, Sinbad then explains the situation to the trio.

Later, Hakushou, Masrur, and Ja'far attend a meeting with Sinbad and the Kings of Balbadd, Ahbmad Saluja and Sahbmad Saluja. The focus is on why Balbadd severed trade with Sindria, and they learn about the Fog Troupe. During the meeting, Hakushou, Masrur and Ja'far remain silent as Sinbad declares his intent to deal with the Fog Troupe.

Post-meeting, Hakushou shares lunch with Sinbad, Masrur, Ja'far, Aladdin, and Morgiana. Sinbad formally introduces Hakushou, Masrur, and Ja'far. Aladdin's persistent gaze on Hakushou leads to questions, and Aladdin reveals that Hakushou resembles someone he recently met, not knowing Aladdin was referring to Hakuei. Then, Sinbad explains to Aladdin what Magoi and Rukh are. After revealing who the Fog Troupe are, the team starts pondering what to do.

When the Fog Troupe attacks, Hakushou avoids the hallucinatory fog and joins Ja'far in counterattacks. When he is wrongly being labeled as the palace's guards with insults thrown at him, Hakushou admits that the royalty are corrupted, but does not allow a tragedy like his own to happen again. He emphasizes that violence is not the answer. However, this interaction catches him off guard which allows Cassim to bind him with his fog and Hakushou immediately recognizes it as Gravity Magic.

After the confrontation, Sinbad explains Balbadd's economic situation in the hotel. Later, Hakushou is present when Sinbad is listening on Alibaba, Aladdin and Morgiana. He voices his disapproval on eavesdropping on other people's conversations. When the Fog Troupe attacks the room, Hakushou, Masrur, Sinbad and Ja'far counterattack. Everyone is caught off guard when Sinbad announces he wants to join the Fog Troupe. Hakushou tells Sinbad that he understands that Sinbad wants to help the citizens, but reminds him of the promise to the king.

Following the failed talk between Alibaba and Ahbmad, Hakushou and others report back to the Fog Troupe. Then Judar visits. After Judar announces his interest in war, he notices Hakushou. While Judar states his surprise that the banished prince is still alive, he also confirms that the potential of the King Vessel he saw in Hakushou is real. This leaves the people who are unfamiliar with their relationship in confusion. When Judar and Aladdin start fighting, Hakushou and the others evacuate the Fog Troupe.

Right when Ugo is about to finish off Judar, he is interfered with by someone. Hakushou immediately recognizes them to be the Kou Empire, though he does not recognize Kougyoku Ren. Kougyoku orders Engi, Entai and Enshin to attack. Hakushou, along with the physically capable, fights off the monsters. When Sinbad manages to stop Kougyoku and ask her to retreat, Kougyoku and Hakushou make eye-contact. Kougyoku then recognizes Hakushou, the banished prince, who she then greets with a scoff.

In the aftermath, Hakushou is one of the people seen taking care of the injured. Though, during this duty he kept drifting off into his own thoughts about the Dungeon Monsters the Kou Empire has added into their arsenal.

When Sinbad goes after Alibaba who ran off towards the castle, Hakushou stays behind with Ja'far and Masrur to take care of the unconscious Aladdin. When Aladdin regains consciousness, Hakushou, Ja'far, and Masrur head to the battle scene. Hakushou obstructs Banker's path with Bararaq Tamziq, allowing Masrur to knock him down, followed by Ja'far attacking with Bararaq Sei and Sinbad finishing the job.

Hakushou assembles with the Eight Generals when the Southern Creature attacks. Alongside the others, he witnesses Sharrkan's impressive defeat of the creature and praises Sharrkan's extraordinary swordsmanship.

During the Mahrajan's Festival, Hakushou enjoys the festivities with everyone. Sinbad gathers the Eight Generals and introduces them to Alibaba, Aladdin, and Morgiana. Hakushou is introduced as a skilled martial artist, originally a refugee due to his status as a banished prince. Sinbad hints at a connection between Alibaba and Hakushou, though because of the sensitive topic of the Kou Empire it isn't mentioned that Hakushou was a Kou Prince. Alibaba questions the numerical inconsistency of the Eight Generals, and Sinbad clarifies that Hakushou is officially not part of the Eight Generals but is counted among his eight Household Members.

After the festivities, Sinbad informs Alibaba about the upcoming arrival of a prince from the Kou Empire. The Eight Generals mention Kougyoku Ren, but Sinbad denies any involvement with her. Hakushou assumes the visiting prince is not Hakuryuu.

As the Kou royalty arrives, Hakushou is initially with the Eight Generals. However, upon seeing Hakuryuu, he smiles and slips away from the crowd, not wishing to be noticed by Hakuryuu.

During Sinbad and Hakuryuu's private conversation, Sinbad observes a resemblance between Hakuryuu's eyes and Hakushou's, especially when Hakuryuu expresses his desire to destroy the Kou Empire. Sinbad recalls Hakushou's loyalty pledge and his wish to halt the Kou Empire, drawing parallels between the two brothers.

Upon learning that Hakuryuu joined in conquering the 61st Dungeon, Hakushou becomes concerned. He approaches Sinbad, questioning why Hakuryuu was allowed to participate. Hakushou expresses worry about Hakuryuu's tendency to overthink and compare himself to others, highlighting potential dangers Hakuryuu might face. Sinbad tells Hakushou to calm down and to trust Alibaba and the others.

When Judar mentions the Kou Empire's Dungeon Capturers and his intent to destroy Sindria, Hakushou slightly loses his composure. Drawing his sword, he confronts Judar, angrily asserting that Judar doesn't speak for the Kou Empire.

Upon learning that Hakuryuu has successfully captured the Dungeon, Hakushou feels a mix of pride and distance. Wanting to congratulate his brother, he chooses to observe from afar. However, when Hakuryuu's arm begins hurting and eventually falls off, Hakushou rushes to his younger brother's side. Hakuryuu is initially surprised to see Hakushou in Sindria, but when Hakushou's attempts to help, Hakuryuu protests.

As Black Rukh emerges from Hakuryuu's arm, Ithnan appears and attacks Sindria's citizens. Blinded by anger, Hakushou joins Sharrkan, Alibaba, and Aladdin in confronting Ithnan. Hakushou's emotions intensifies when Alibaba and Sinbad are affected by Ithnan's Curse Magic. Witnessing his comrades affected, Hakushou, enraged, draws his sword and demands the Sindrian guards to back off from his prey.

In his fury, Hakushou begins invoking his Djinn, prompting Sinbad to intervene and snap him back to his senses. Ithnan explains the curse's effects, leading Hakushou to order Ithnan to face him, but Ithnan escapes.

During a following meeting, Ja'far announces the achievements of the recent dungeon diving, with the Dark Metal Vessel as a significant accomplishment. Sinbad addresses his Eight Generals, emphasizing their strength to overcome obstacles. Sinbad's gaze singles out Hakushou as if he was addressing the banished prince in particular.

Before Hakuryuu's departure, Hakushou asks Hakuryuu what he is going to do from now on. Hakuryuu replies that he is going to join their sister Hakuei. Hakushou then asks how Hakuei is doing and to his relief, Hakuei is doing fine. However, Hakuryuu reports that Hakuei still thinks Hakushou betrayed the Kou Empire and is behind the deaths of their older brothers. Hakushou says he doesn't mind, so long as Hakuei is safe and healthy. When Hakushou reassures Hakuryuu that he can always come to him for support, Hakuryuu declines and says that he is strong and capable of taking care of himself and that he is going to fulfill Hakuyuu and Hakuren's wish and coldly adds that Hakushou failed in doing so.

On the ship towards the Aktia Kingdom, questions about Hakushou and Hakuryuu's relationship arise. Hakuryuu answers them and tells Alibaba, Aladdin and Morgiana that Hakushou is banished from Kou for forming a supposed secret alliance with Sindria, but does not mention that he is also blamed for the deaths of their older brothers.

Hakushou later appears in Hakuryuu's flashback. After the revelation about their mother, Hakushou is the one who got Hakuryuu to safety after Hakuyuu sacrificed himself to protect his younger brothers from the fire.

In Sindria, Sinbad summons Hakushou to discuss the passing of Kou's emperor. Sinbad inquires if Hakushou knows what will happen in Kou. Hakushou speculates that Kouen, being the current first prince, is likely to ascend to the throne. Sinbad playfully suggests Hakushou could return to reclaim the throne, but Hakushou takes it seriously, emphasizing the peril he would face.

After the ceremony, Hakuryuu speaks to Hakuei, explaining that Hakushou was not involved in their brothers' deaths. Instead, it was their mother who orchestrated the assassination.

Later, when Hakuryuu faces Gyokuen and Judar, Gyokuen expresses regret for not ending Hakushou's life, considering the banishment from Kou a lenient punishment. She laments losing a formidable fighter to Sindria. Hakuryuu questions how she knows about Hakushou's whereabouts, realizing that Judar or Kougyoku might have reported it to someone in Kou.

Hakushou arrives in Magnostadt alongside the Seven Seas Alliance. During the confrontation, he, along with the other Metal Vessel users, Djinn Equips. When Scheherazade uses her last power to restore the Magoi of the exhausted Dungeon Capturers, Hakushou participates in a combined Extreme Magic, using his Taqil Sahaq Saiqa to deliver a decisive blow to the Medium.

Later, when Kouen attempts to claim Aladdin, Hakushou steps forward, positioning himself between Kouen and Sinbad. He firmly requests Kouen to release the Magi. Despite Kouen reminding Hakushou of his position, Hakushou remains steadfast, repeating his request. Ultimately, Kouen chooses to withdraw the Kou Empire from the front.

When the fleet reaches the island the summit is going to take part, Hakushou is part of the Generals who welcome the fleet. Then he, along with the Generals, joins Sinbad's side to hear the story Aladdin has to tell.

After the conclusion of the Alma Torran story, Hakushou finds himself speechless, attempting to process everything Aladdin had revealed to him and the others present in the hall. When Aladdin proposes a ceasefire among the three major nations, Hakushou watches Sinbad with anticipation. He hopes that Sinbad would make the right decision, as he harbors mistrust towards the Kou Empire due to the presence of his mother and Al Thamen.

To Hakushou's relief, Sinbad is aware of Kou's connection to Al Thamen. However, when Kouen rejects Sinbad's demand to sever ties with Al Thamen, Hakushou is left in confusion. He questions how long Kouen had been aware of Al Thamen's influence in Kou and wonders if Kouen approves of the assassination of his older brothers.

Upon Kouen mentioning that Gyokuen resembles Arba, Hakushou couldn't help but agree that his own mother bears a striking resemblance to the woman. The entry of Judar into the discussion and him ignoring Sinbad surprises Hakushou and the other Generals, given Judar's usual tendency for poking fun at Sinbad. When Judar reveals that Arba and Gyokuen Ren are the same person, Hakushou is shocked. His disbelief persists when Judar claims that Gyokuen has been killed. Hakushou insists that Judar stop joking, asserting that his mother couldn't be easily killed. However, Kou confirms the truth, announcing that Hakuryuu has killed their mother and initiated a rebellion. Hakushou's mind raced with concerns for Hakuei's safety and questions about Hakuryuu's intentions.

Sinbad's decision to ally with Kouen leaves Hakushou conflicted. Although he wishes to prevent the internal conflict in Kou, he doesn't want to find himself in a confrontation with his own younger brother. In a later private meeting with Sinbad, Hakushou pleads for intervention to prevent Kouen from fighting Hakuryuu, expressing his deep concern about his younger brother's fate. Sinbad reassures Hakushou, urging him not to worry. He reveals that he had actually formed an alliance with Hakuryuu a long time ago.

Inside Belial's dungeon, an illusion of Hakushou materializes and questions Hakuryuu about whether he truly believes their brothers desire a division in their family and empire. The illusion also inquires if Hakuryuu takes pride in his growth. In response, Hakuryuu slashes at the illusion, asserting that Hakushou is wrong for not taking action to reclaim the throne as the rightful heir. He declares that if Hakushou won't do it, then he will.

As Hakuryuu begins to succumb to depravity, both Hakushou and Hakuei plead with him to return to the right path and fight alongside them. In response, Hakuryuu ruthlessly slashes down at their illusionary bodies, ultimately killing the illusion.

Before Hakushou departs with the Seven Seas Alliance to confront Kouen, he recalls Kouen's invitation to join forces in the fight against Hakuryuu. Kouen proposes lifting Hakushou's banishment now that Gyokuen is gone. In response, Hakushou asks Kouen for some time to contemplate the decision. Kouen, pressing the weight of the situation, asserts that he knows what Hakuyuu and Hakuren would have chosen.

Later, Hakushou is seen alongside Sinbad and the other Generals as they make their way towards Balbadd to stop Kouen.

During Hakuryuu's confrontation with Kouen, it is revealed that Kouen saved Hakushou's life. He had pleaded with his father and Gyokuen to spare Hakushou, opting for his banishment instead of execution.

After the Kou Empire Civil War, Hakushou visits Kouen, Koumei, and Kouha in exile. Talking with Kouen, he learns that Kouen intervened when Gyokuen and Koutoku plotted Hakushou's execution for allegedly forming a secret alliance with Sindria. Kouen used his recognition of Hakushou's talent as an excuse and opted for banishment instead of execution to save his life.

Understanding the circumstances of his banishment, Hakushou finds peace and builds a more genuine bond with the three brothers. As the world changes under Sinbad's influence, the Eight Generals leave Sindria, and Hakushou returns to the Kou Empire, serving as an advisor to his younger brother Hakuryuu.

However, Kou faces economic challenges and falls into poverty. When Hakuryuu offers Hakushou the throne, he declines, acknowledging his lack of leadership ability. Instead, he suggests Kougyoku as empress, praising her kindhearted character.

Hakushou serves under Kougyoku, but a year before Alibaba's return, Hakuryuu reveals his plan to go into hiding with Morgiana and Aladdin to escape Gyokuen, now possessing Hakuei. Hakushou is confused and asks Hakuryuu what he means, since their mother had been slain by Hakuryuu. Hakuryuu explains that Arba is now possessing their sister Hakuei. This shocks Hakushou and he asks if Sinbad knows it since Hakuei is within the Sindria Trading Company. Hakuryuu then answers that Sinbad is after Aladdin, leaving Hakushou conflicted. Hakushou wonders if there is anything he can do to save Hakuei and drive out Arba. Hakuryuu reassures his older brother and tells him that he has not forgotten their promise to protect Hakuei. Hakushou then feels proud of Hakuryuu’s growth and leaves Hakuei in the hands of Hakuryuu as he focuses on keeping Kou afloat.

When Hakuryuu, Aladdin and Morgiana defeat Arba and after Arba fails to take over Hakuryuu, Arba remembers Hakushou and thanks Kouen for suggesting to keep Hakushou alive. However, her confidence is crushed when Hakuryuu tells Arba that she did not technically birth Hakushou because Hakushou was born before Arba took over Gyokuen's body.

In Kou, Hakushou collaborates with Alibaba to strengthen Kou's position in the changing world. They establish trade agreements through transportation circles, but rumors about Kou's invasion lead to the agreements' cancellation. Hakushou offers to speak to the leaders of the countries. He guesses that the leaders who were formerly part of the eight generals might listen to their old comrade. Despite Hakushou's efforts to convince leaders, the plan fails.

Later, Kougyoku announces during the gathering of the International Alliance that Kou is withdrawing from the Seven Seas Alliance as well as the International Alliance. This idea is originally brought up by Hakushou when they find out Sinbad was the one behind the bad rumors about Kou. As much as Hakushou respects Sinbad, he chooses not to let his country be crushed by Sinbad.

After Sinbad rewrites everyone's Ruhks, Hakushou is also affected by it. When Alibaba and Aladdin confront Sinbad for it, Hakushou and the other eight generals appear behind Sinbad and all voice their support for Sinbad.

As Alibaba, Aladdin, Hakuryuu and Judar fight to stop everything and everyone to turn into Rukh, the Metal Vessel users, including Hakushou, of the International Alliance gather and arm themselves against Alibaba in Heliohapt.

When the Ruhk's rewriting by Sinbad is undone, Hakushou snaps back to his senses and fights alongside everyone else against the messengers from the Sacred Palace. As the dungeons start to appear, they all start targeting them and destroying them.

During the battle, Sinbad suggests everyone sacrifice themselves for Alibaba, Hakushou refuses to give in to that idea. Though, before he could voice his refusal, Alibaba refused Sinbad's solution.

After the defeat of David, Hakushou is part of the construction team and is seen helping the people rebuild the world.

Abilities
Physical Abilities

Hakushou is physically strong and well-trained in many weapons, though he prefers to use his Three-section staff and Dadao. At a very young age, Hakushou was trained in mastering the Three-section staff. Along with this, Hakushou trained his swordsmanship with Hakuyuu and Hakuren. Furthermore, Hakushou is also trained in martial arts and can fight without his weapons.

Magoi Manipulation

After his banishment, Hakushou came across the Yambala Gladiators right before they were about to enter Kou territory. Under their training, Hakushou learned Magoi Manipulation. The Yambala Gladiators taught him how to concentrate his Magoi into his weapon, a skill that was later also taught to Hakuryuu by the Yambala Gladiators.

Hakushou uses the powers of Sinbad's Djinn, Baal. Baal lends his power to his Household Vessel, Bararaq Tamziq.

  • Bararaq Tamziq (Coiling Dragon Slash): Hakushou's Household Vessel. It emits lightning strikes in the directions he swings his Three-section staff.

Sytry is the Strength Djinn that Hakushou obtained when he conquered the 12th Dungeon. Sytry is the Djinn of Lust and Passion. This Djinn dwells in the sword Hakushou carries with him. He is able to attack with gravity by his Metal Vessel.

Spirit of Lust and Passion, I summon thee and thy Household to rise and endow me with your great strength! Come forth, Sytry!
―Hakushou, when summoning the powers of Sytry

Relationships

Hakushou holds immense respect for Hakuyuu. During his younger days, Hakushou aspired to grow up and embody the qualities of Hakuyuu. He cherished every moment he spent learning from his older brother. Even in moments of confusion or uncertainty, Hakushou often seeks guidance by contemplating what Hakuyuu would have done in his situation.

Hakushou had a strong bond with Hakuren. They frequently sparred together, with Hakuren, being older and more experienced, usually emerging as the victor. Hakushou found comfort in Hakuren's cheerful and bright character, always feeling at ease around him. When Hakuren passed away, Hakushou aimed to mirror his brother's radiant personality to provide comfort to his younger siblings.

Hakushou has a deep and protective love for his younger sister, and he tends to be overprotective of her. Despite this, they share a good relationship and respect each other's boundaries. The passing of Hakuyuu and Hakuren intensified Hakushou's protective feelings towards Hakuei. Whenever he perceived Hakuei working too hard, he reminded her of her status as an imperial princess and urged her to let him handle the workload.

After Hakushou's banishment, their relationship strained due to his status. Despite still holding Hakuei dear, as she and Hakuryuu are the only family he has left, Hakushou kept his distance. He sensed Hakuei's deep hurt when Gyokuen falsely blamed him for their older brothers' deaths. To protect Hakuei, he chose to keep the secret about their mother.

Hakushou holds his younger brother dear and values their strong bond from their childhood. In their youth, he often accompanied and entertained Hakuryuu. However, after the death of their older brothers, Hakushou's approach towards Hakuryuu slightly shifted. His increasing responsibilities led to less time spent together, yet he reassured Hakuryuu about becoming stronger to protect him and Hakuei. Simultaneously, he encouraged Hakuryuu to grow strong as well, emphasizing their shared responsibility to protect their sister.

Following Hakushou's banishment, he notices Hakuryuu's tendency to decline help and reject his presence upon their reunion in Sindria. Hakushou fears this reluctance may be a result of his constant urging for Hakuryuu to be strong and independent. Despite this concern, Hakushou cannot suppress his desire to help and protect his younger brother.

Before the assassination of his older brothers, Hakushou regarded his mother as an incredibly caring and loving woman, holding great respect for her. However, after the assassination, conflicting emotions arose within him. One part of him resisted believing that his mother could be the culprit, repeatedly convincing himself that Hakuren might have been mistaken.

However, when falsely blamed by his mother for the death of his older brothers, Hakushou's perspective on her completely changed. He became wary and could only perceive her as evil. His concern for Hakuei and Hakuryuu heightened significantly, as they were to be left in Kou without him after his banishment.

Initially, Hakushou had little knowledge of Kouen's personality, learning about him mainly through stories recounted by Hakuyuu and Hakuren about their shared battles. Following the deaths of Hakuyuu and Hakuren, Hakushou began to perceive Kouen primarily as a rival for the throne, given that his brothers' demise led to Kouen's promotion to the first imperial prince. Despite understanding the unlikely chance of ascending to the throne due to his ranking, Hakushou continued studying, holding onto the slim possibility.

After Hakushou's banishment, the strained relationship between him and Kouen worsened. Hakushou often assumed that Kouen no longer considered him a part of the Ren family, judging by the tension in their conversations.

However, after Hakushou visits Kouen in exile, he learns that Kouen was aware of the culprit behind his brothers' deaths. Kouen was actively studying and fighting to avenge Hakutoku, Hakuyuu, and Hakuren. Furthermore, Hakushou discovers that the reason he was banished instead of executed is thanks to Kouen's intervention. As a result, Hakushou's perception of Kouen begins to shift. Over time, the tension in their relationship gradually lightens.

Hakushou had minimal interactions with Koumei, primarily because Koumei tended to be a recluse, enveloped in mystery. Despite the limited encounters, Hakushou formed a perception of Koumei as a highly respectful individual, and their few interactions reflected this respect even when their positions changed.

Following Hakushou's banishment, the two stopped to have any further interactions until Hakushou visited Koumei during his exile.

Hakushou and Kouha often clashed due to their differing personalities, leading to short quarrels. Understanding Kouha's thoughts was a challenge for Hakushou, though Kouha did display respect toward him due to Hakushou's higher ranking. As Kouha rose in ranks due to Koutoku becoming the new emperor, Hakushou became the subject of Kouha's teasing, something he chose not to reciprocate out of respect for the new hierarchy.

After Hakushou's banishment, Kouha continued to greet him teasingly when they crossed paths. Despite uncertainties about Kouha's intentions, Hakushou remained unfazed by the teasing as he was used to it, maintaining a calm demeanor.

Due to Kougyoku's tendency to hide and her fear of approaching Hakushou and his siblings, Hakushou initially remained unaware of her existence. This became evident when Hakushou encountered Kougyoku in Balbadd and was unable to recognize her. Their initial interactions were strained, but during her visit to Sindria, Hakushou discovered the softer sides of Kougyoku.
