mysterious • intimidating • scarredA Tanuki which didn't deserve his fate. From being the heir of the throne to be exiled, his life went totally downhill as soon as he was born. All he knows is betrayal, injustice and rage.
He barely shows any emotions and has a quite complex personality. Most of the time, he shows a serious and emotionless expression to hide his true nature. He appears as dominant, quite intimidating and grumpy sometimes. He is also quite shorted tempered and can be angry easily if you tease him enough which he hates it.
He only shows his real side to Shadow Lauramy sometimes, his creation or when he is alone and needs to let things go. He is indeed quite friendly, a bit shy but very caring, he can be a very good father figure and very protective.
But sometimes, he can hesitate on which side he should be : the bad guy (hiding his emotions and acts like he is strong and intimidating) or being the good guy (nice, caring and protective). The past he has been through keeps making him hesitate on this.
Trivia
• The song "Till It's Over" by Tristam helped me to write his backstory, mostly for the drowning part.
• He originally had a more "Mario looking" appearance. It is no longer used but kept as for a potential "Mario AU appearance"
• Even though his Monster Form hasn't been designed yet with his new and current design, he still has it.

Shadow Lauramy • {Creation}
She is the friend he created to replace the one who betrayed him. He really enjoys her company, company he sometimes needs to go through his tormenting past. Shadow Tanooki also taught her how she can help him with his traumatic past through habits. Thanks to these, she can have the right reflexes and help him without the need of feelings.
Leader Danuki • {Traitor/Former Friend}
He was his first and only friend. But because of a incident that he never committed, he got betrayed by Leader Danuki and everyone else. Shadow Tanooki is no longer friends with him for acting like a coward and blaming ST instead of Leader Danuki (the true culprit)
Mad King • {Worst enemy}
He never liked him and always knew about his evil ways. From the beginning, he understood he wanted to eliminate ST to keep the crown to himself. Sometimes ST wonders about how people can be proud to have such a selfish king like him.
Backstory
(Fan art by MaryBrothersPlayer) He has been created by a magical leaf but it has been corrupted by Dark Magic. His creation was important because he would be the successor of the throne. But unfortunately… his birth slowly turned into a bad omen. His powers grew so fast that it was hard for him to handle them, making everyone scared of him and keeping his distance from him. Mad King (the ruler of the Tanooki Village) decided to purify him into the magic water pound to remove his powers.
Unfortunately, the water burned him and slowly started to peel off his skin, giving him scars all over his body. Hopefully he was saved on time and Mad King accorded him a chance to keep his powers if he would finally handle them. Leader Danuki (Mad King’s son) will be his “teacher” and help him learn to use his powers and to handle them. He will even become his best friend with him, the best friend he never had. Until one day, an accident occurred.
During his practice, Leader Danuki accidentally burned the tree house where the king lived. Everyone was freaking out and the king survived the huge fire but with big burned marks. Everyone accused Shadow Tanooki, even Leader Danuki ! The king decided to ban Shadow Tanooki from the village forever for attempting to kill the king.
Until this day, the successor is now another tanuki and he is planning his revenge to take over the Village and make everyone suffer from what they did to him. He also created Shadow Lauramy, jealous of seeing Tanookamy having a best friend while he lost the only best friend he never had, Leader Danuki.
