Eslenitrài is a serrulitir adventurer; to those who have earned his trust and respect he may be addressed as simply Eslen. Technically a prince of one of the kingdoms pledging its allegiance to the atrauéti's ancient, grand empire—the Kesemlir, Eslenitrài would rather be seeing the Tianhai for himself, especially as the line of succession means he has no real chance at ever ascending the throne.
He graduated from the imperial military academy with superlative honors and subsequently served a posting as an ambassador to one of the powerful ganghuanzu hanses, where he was instrumental in diffusing a crisis that could have led to renewed war. Upon his return to his homeworld, he surprised many (and dismayed his parents) with his announcement that he would be relinquishing most of his royal titles and selling off many of his ancestral holdings, choosing instead to travel the galaxy, righting wrongs, and attempting to better understand its many civilizations.
Eslen always carries himself with dignity, and is generally serious and reserved. He treats everyone he meets with courtesy and grace, and he is a polyglot who can speak eloquently in many of the Tianhai's languages. He has very little patience for nonsense, dissembling, or trickery, and is not easily fooled. His circle of confidants is as tightly knit as any, made up of both friends from childhood or his academy days, as well as those who have chosen to swear fealty to him as he journeys among the stars.
Like any good Kesemlir noble of his stature, Eslen is trained in the lattnion, the prismatic blade that is the emblematic imperial weapon, although he often fights as a marksman in practice. He is strong and extremely agile, and is not afraid to fight up close if he has to. As a serrulitir royal, he has access to a share of the atrauéti's Talent of supernatural light, and he wields it devastatingly in battle.
