Arseniy Ivanovich Korolev (Арсений Иванович Королёв) is a deuteragonist of the Universe of Metro 2033 fan-story "Sins of our Past". He provides a different look on the story. He is a veteran member of the Rangers; Arseniy is a squad leader, and his right-hand man is Mikhail Kuzmin. He used to be Danila's close friend back when the former was still the medic of the "SPARTA" Order. Arseniy is a very stern and strict person, who doesn't tolerate any form of objecting his orders, although there are moments when he makes a joke or two, especially around his colleagues. The man has a soft spot for children, though. There are moments where he has anger outbursts, and he often swears.
Before the Apocalypse, Arseniy had a wife, Sofia, and a very young son named Pavel – unfortunately, both of them died during the Armagedon, leaving the man alone in the post-apocalyptic world. Pavel's death is the reason why he has such a weak spot for kids.
During the events of November 2033, he is one of the Rangers stationed in Polis. He is later sent along other stalkers to save Artyom from the Great Worm Cult members, and when Artyom and Ulman travel to Ostankino Tower, he stays with Melnik and the rest, who activate the missile launchers.
Arseniy was born on March 21st, 1981 to Ivan Nikolayevich Korolev and Svetlana Mikhailovna Koroleva. Arseniy met Danila during their compulsory national service in 1999. While Danila left to study medicine, Arseniy stayed in the military, and then became a policeman; he couldn't imagine his life without strict rules and orders.
When World War III happened, the man was one of the lucky ones that managed to hide in the Moscow Metro system. After the "SPARTA" Order was founded, he joined with Danila – his old friend, who survived the apocalypse as well. Arseniy was a regular soldier, who found a new home in the Rangers. He was often send to missions on the surface. Sometime in 2020, his relationship with Danila began to worsen, often resulting in serious arguments. After the medic was unable to save their friend – Vladimir Sokolov – one of their disuptes resulted in a serious fight, as the Spartan blamed him for Sokolov's death, which made Danila leave the Spartans. He then moved somewhere, not that Arseniy cared about it. He stayed with the Rangers, and despite facing consequences for the fight and being the reason why Danila left, he was assigned as a squad leader after some time.

- Arseniy has two scars on his face; one on his right brow, and one in the corner of his mouth, exposing a bit of his teeth.
- He's tall and muscular, as he still likes to workout.
- When not in the uniform, he wears military boots, military pants, with a claret pullover and leather pilot jacket.
- When he was a younger Spartan, he often ended up in the infirmary, where Danila would treat his wounds. The doctor even once joked that "if [Arseniy] ends up here for 4th time this week he'll cut off his arm himself".
- His favorite animals are seals and Tibetan Mastiff breed.
Enemy; ex-friend
Danila Fyodorov
In the past, Danila and Arseniy used to be friends. They met during the compulsory national service, and after World War III, they both joined the "SPARTA" Order. They used to get along, Danila thought they were really close, but after the accident with Sokolov their relationship fell apart. Arseniy became agressive towards Danila, and Danila was mean to his ex-friend, often ending up in arguments. One of them resulted in a serious fight in which the medic lost his eye. After that, he left SPARTA and moved to Rizhskaya. Now they are enemies.
Right-hand man
Mikhail Kuzmin
Mikhail is Arseniy's right-hand man. Although Arseniy finds Misha annoying sometimes, but they get along and cooperate during the missions very well. Arseniy trusts Mikhail the most out of all the people in "SPARTA" (besides Miller, of course) and treats him like his own child – a sort of replacement for his late son Pavel, who died in the Apocalypse. Sometimes, Arseniy thinks to himself that Mikhail reminds him a bit of Danila in some situations; a thought he doesn't want to let himself to. They drink together when they get the chance.
Supervisor
Colonel Melnik
As a "SPARTA" veteran, Arseniy and Melnik are on good terms. They aren't close, but Melnik knows and trusts Arseniy, as the man was even given his own squad. Arseniy on the other hand is loyal to the Order and their leader.
