ABOUT
Ekiya is a recent addition to the idyllic Stardew Valley - a kindly, humble farmer who "inherited" the massive "Hideaways" farm from his deceased "grandfather," a man everyone seems to remember fondly, if a bit fuzzily. Or, that's what his cover story would have you believe. Really, he was sent here from the multiverse on a mission - study the anomalies of this version of Stardew Valley, identify any agents of the Void hiding among them, and determine if the timeline is stable enough to maintain itself, all while blending in and gaining the trust of the community.
Compared to his previous assignments, this mission is a breath of fresh air as he adapts well to the country life. Perhaps a bit too well, though, as he cultivates bonds of friends and even family that his old life could never hope to accomodate. After years of enjoying the simple pleasure of reaping the land's fruits and protecting the citizens of Pelican Town, how could he possibly return to the multidimmensional war that took everything else from him?

TRIVIA
- I used Ekiya as my farmer for my 2nd dip into modded Stardew. The first try was as a farmhand on a friend's multiplayer level, so I couldn't continue progress on my own to fully explore the content.
- Thus a lot of the references to "Stability" or "Void Interference" are really just bugs I found while mods do their mod things. As well as the extra content from Stardew Valley Expanded making a good explanation on why he's here in the first place.
- He has two kids: Serena and Geoff Jr.
- Still finds time in this universe dizzyingly short - the number of times he's accidentally stayed up too late is too many to count. At least someone is keeping Harvey in business.
- If asked for his birthday, he will give a random date. Nobody can know the truth.
- Chronic pain is a jerk! His condition carried over from the multiverse, in a slightly more lowkey way. Some days he can clear 100+ skull cavern levels, and other days it's a chore just to get out of bed. Makes him wonder why Myra gave him such a big farm to cultivate! But a few tricks of reality bending has really come in clutch for him here (Read: 'Automate' is a blessing).
PERSONALITY
Though Ekiya appears young, he carries with him a maturity and wisdom that betrays his true age. He's kind and empathetic, eager to see through another's eyes and help in any way he can. Of course, just as much as he is gentle and easy going, he can easily switch over to being firm and ruthless as the situation demands, especially in combat situations.
Even if he tries to come across as knowledgable and capable, it's clear he's not quite as 'in-touch' with the customs and lore of this universe, an oversight which can make him look kind of clumsy and absentminded. But he's learning. And he's willing to embarrass himself a bit if it means gaining a new perspective on the world.

Originally, Ekiya was studying Claire as part of his mission. After quickly crossing her off the threats list, he found himself taking interest for other reasons. As both of them were outsiders to the community, it was easier to show his clumsy efforts of acclimating around her, and he encouraged her to try the same. Despite an awkward start, they ended up growing exceptionally close. He avidly supports her pursuit of her dreams of being an actress; the Void can wait, there's a 5 o clock showing of "The Thief of Justice" and he WILL NOT be late.
As leader of the Adventurer's guild, Marlon was the go-to if Ekiya wanted to get anywhere in the monter hunting scene, where the Void's presence was strongest. But he's found him to be an honorable comrade and friend as well. He knows to hold his tongue when it comes to contradictions with their differing realities and the truth of his abilities, but still finds his wisdom valuable.
After stumbling into Leo on Ginger Island, Ekiya's immediately charmed by him. He admires the boy's strength through adversities at such a young age, as well as his deep love of nature. If it wasn't for the fact he had a full house at the time, he would've offered to take the boy in under his own wing - but honestly, he couldn't see a better place for him than with Linus back at the valley. He stops by often with mangos and duck feathers and encourages his efforts to integrate with the other Pelican Town kids.
Though wary of him at first, Ekiya's come to truly appreciate the kindness of Krobus, and does his best to return that kindness, stopping by to chat or shop for essence and sprinklers often. Still, despite their friendship, Ekiya's feelings are turbulent with guilt over the number of the other's kind he's slain. But he has a duty...
Listen. He appreciates the guy and all the good he does for the community. Really. It's just... When you have a chronic condition that doesn't exist this side of the multiverse that you're really trying to keep on the down low about, it can be frustrating to have someone so adept at noticing when you're on your off-game. Doesn't help that he's constantly landing in the clinic from accidentally exhausting himself.... He's fine, he promises he's fine, just slide over another dozen energy tonics, and he'll be good as golden!
Ekiya can find himself empathizing with Kent on several key life experiences in one way or another, but didn't think they had much else in common until he got to know him better as a fellow member of the Adventurer's Guild.
This. Woman. Drives him 10 different ways of uncomfortable and he would VERY much appreciate her not wisking him away at her own whims.
