About

Graham is a rather odd cat.
His native time and place are the 1920's in America, in the full swing of prohibition. As with many others, he is part of the underground market of alcohol sales. Despite this, he seems like an odd candidate - during the day, he works part time as a mortician's assistant. Most cats his age don't need two jobs, but he finds himself needing to make ends meet and he saves any extras... strangely, this means he's more wealthy than he lets on.

In the story of Tempus Toil, he is the unwitting medium that Nebit ends up partnering with. While working at closing up the bar one night, he finds himself dealing with strange happenings. Graham, however, doesn't believe in ghosts. Working around the dead so much, he finds it often silly that people seem to ascribe weirdness to dead souls. But it becomes undeniable when Nebit appears suddenly in front of him - clearly not living.
In the chaos, the pair accidentally knocks into the Obelisk, which occupies the center space of the speakeasy... and are suddenly transported in time to Nebit's more modern era.

To both of their surprise, Graham is fairly good at fitting in, as long as no one questions his strange isms. Nebit tries to focus on getting back to somewhere familiar, while Graham just wants to go home - and the Obelisk is nowhere to be found.

As a character, Graham is certainly out of place, but makes a very good chameleon. He's good at quickly adapting to those around him, and his charisma as a bartender seems to help him relate to people in different eras. Despite his social literacy, he struggles immensely with technology: even from his own time. When Osmer gets him a phone to help him keep in touch, he often finds himself confused and leaving it places.
Graham ends up falling in with his new reality of jumping back and forth in time, and making close friends with his two co-investigators. When he starts to realize what's really going on, he struggles to rationalize what the best path forward is...

I've used Graham for multiple school projects, and he's the only one of the three protagonists that I fully designed myself during the class I refined the story! He's very fun to animate, but I keep forgetting how to draw him oops...

Design Notes

- Anthro only, clothed only(unless you ask)
- His arm bands should be drawn a little higher than I drew them here.
- He should always have proportionally large eyes, large ears, and a generally triangular head.
- He can wear other outfits, as the trio often has to wear disguises while time travelling.
- As a cat, he should be athletic and very flowy. He's fun for dynamic posing!
- He is the tallest of the three protagonists: in human height he should be a little over 6ft.
- He is actually plantigrade: however he does not wear shoes. He does run on his toes, though.
