Mariette Brooks

Mariette Brooks is a Slovak American fifteen year old teenager who attends Bor's High School for Troubled Teens. He came to the school for suicidal ideation and self harm. Their mother passed away when they were only six years old, which took a toll on their father, who became an alcoholic and heavy smoker. Life became rough for Mariette and their younger brother, Leos. To cope with his father's mental breakdowns, he got into poetry. There were times where Mariette and their brother had to stay at their cousin's house, due to the severity of their father's drug use, even to the point where their cousins had to pay for them to live and almost had to go to foster care. Mariette fell into a hole of depression and, later, got addicted to self harm. It wasn't until he was eleven that his father became clean. His father got him into therapy and did whatever he could to ensure Mariette was safe and healthy. He was enrolled to Bor's High School for Troubled Teens after finishing middle school. They were always the observant type, acknowledging the world around them and writing it down. This helped Mariette excel in school and was top of their class. Despite doing well in school, their self esteem was incredibly low. They had a close friend they would talk to at school, but nothing more. He kept himself in his room, usually reading a book or sitting on his bed doing homework. Every day was a struggle. He never expected his life to end with one.
