(The) Knight is a heaven-sent being who occupies a large island continent inhabited by monsters who prey on the people who live there. At some point in time he was placed on the land to purge it of the evil that runs rampant.

He can't remember a time before his life now or how exactly he came to the island. One day he started his life and has been on the track to kill everything he comes across that he deems evil, this doesn't necessarily make him a good person. However, he is known to shed tears after some battles, it's unknown if this is out of sadness or something similar to sympathy. This is also the only time he's shown to show emotion.

Biologically, he is more similar to the monsters he kills than to a man. The armor he wears is apart of his body and cannot be removed. He doesn't need to eat or sleep and doesn't talk, not that he needs to communicate with anyone. He is incredibly resistant to physical injury while being capable of superhuman strength and endurance that allows him to walk wherever he needs to and to defeat enemies much larger than him.

The monsters he fights against have a range of appearances, taking lots of different forms ranging from humanoid to animalistic or draconic.

His usual gear is a broadsword paired with a shield.

Due to his mysterious and violent nature, the people he aids are usually scared of him, rarely approaching him unless they're in danger. They also don't know his real name, simply calling him The Knight (shortened to Knight). There are some who believe him to be a savior or something angelic, there are others who think he is the devil, or at the very least a demon of sorts. He sees himself as neither. He has no desire for power or influence, he just travels and kills as that is all he's known.

He is haunted by the ghost of a woman named Lucretia. She is friendly towards him and appears to him in private moments to provide comfort. They may have been lovers at one point. Besides her, he shows no interest in romantic or sexual relations.
