Description

Aesthir is very tall for a human, yet not tall enough to match her Celestial kindred. However, there is way more from Deva than from a mortal in her appearance. Her pale skin seems to have a slight golden tone to it and sometimes it looks like she's almost glowing in the sun. Aesthir's short hair is of a white color. And her eyes have a white pupil and a glowing golden iris. Not to mention a pair of white-gold wings on her back, which she doesn't even bother to hide. In the opposite, she proudly shows her feathers off.

There are always two ways of being a descendant of Celestial beings: either you are kind and wish to help mortals. Or you are an arrogant creature with gray morals and a twisted understanding of "Good". Aesthir is one of the last. Her morals are closer to those of Сelestials. Not all the good she does is seen as good by other people. She might consider "good" burning down a plagued village to stop the plague from spreading and killing more peasants, for example... (Arthas did nothing wrong.) She is arrogant, cold and sees herself above other mortals.

Biography

- A daughter of an Astral Deva mother and a human father, yet names of both are unknown;
- An infant, she was found in a forest and adopted by Lord and Lady Morrow, paladins and followers of Helm;
- People saw her as "messiah" and "blessing of gods" and treated her accordingly when she grew up. So Aesthir has quite an ego. She is arrogant, harsh and sees herself above mortals;
- Her understanding of "justice" and "law" are closer of those of Celestials and her actions are often seen as something not good by common people;
- Together with her two companions she is now on a mission of searching for a demon lord, who was released and possessed a body of a mortal, planning to take down the world;
- During her travels she found a book of order of apostate paladins and got into their teaching. She burned their vows on her both arms;
- At some point of the travels, after she almost died, tips of her wings started to turn red;

The Great Inferno War started unexpectedly. The fiends of the lower planes appeared overnight, attacking villages and cities. Demonic portals could open up anywhere, and the cultists, who came out of the shadows during these dark days, rallied under the banners of their diabolical masters. They supported the hordes of disgusting monsters with all their might, gathering more and more minions and servants around them. This war seemed to be lost by mortals.

Perhaps because of prayers and cries of the dying, or maybe for other reasons, the Celestials intervened in the War. With their help, it was possible to tip the scales on the side of mortals. And then, gathering all possible forces and armies of the kingdoms, Celestials and mortals together expelled the demons back to their worlds.

Reminders of those dark years can still be found all over the land. There was not a single family in which at least someone would not have suffered from the clutches of demons or their minions. Many villages and small towns that were turned into ashes were never rebuilt. And the soil will not dry up soon from the spilled blood.

It was right after the Great War. Lord and Lady Morrow returned from the battlefield and found a baby in the forest. An infant with golden eyes and shoulders covered with delicate feathers. The Morrows were faithful servants of the Light. They had just survived the war and lost their sons to the demons. As a result, they adopted this infant without hesitation, considering her a blessing from the Gods and a sign of their good will. A hope for a better future. There were no signs around that someone would come back for the child. There was only a piece of parchment with "Aesthir" written on it in the Celestial language, which the adoptive parents took as the name of the child.

Aesthir grew up in love and care, but without luxury — all the forces of the Morrow family were thrown into restoring the lands after the war. Little Aasimar didn't want any special attention or special treatment, but she was still surrounded by it. The girl was taught not only everything that a future lady and the only daughter of a lord should know: history, geography, languages, etiquette, but also religious practices and military affairs. Since she learned to read and hold a sword, not a single morning of her life has passed without a prayer, and practically not a single day without combat training. When the girl's gift of healing wounds and diseases with a touch was revealed, almost no one had any doubts about her divinity. People were sure that a great fate was destined for her.

And if anyone had any doubts about Aesthir being a divine creature, then their doubts were dispelled on the day when her wings grew. It all happened during a prayer service at the cathedral, when Aesthir was barely thirteen. Several weeks before this day, Aesthir suffered from a searing pain in her back. And during the ceremony, she collapsed on the ground, screaming in pain, and wings broke out of her back. It was a miraculous transformation, and many of the parishioners still remember this day with awe.

Throughout her life, every person in the county, and even outside of it, saw Aesthir as a divine creature. Some people almost worshipped her, especially those she saved from deadly wounds and diseases. Aesthir became a well-known Paladin of Helm. And she herself did truly believe she was the one chosen by God. Chosen to bring justice, to help those in need and punish evil. Some paladins considered her "justice" to be... more severe than usual. But Aesthir saw herself above mortals. In the end, she was chosen by Helm, was she not?

One day, Aesthir and her companions, three adventurers who decided to aid Morrows in an hour of need, were following a group of necromancers. These followers of dark arts gathered a cult in the forests, slaughtering the people of a small village and claiming it for themselves. During the fight, the leader of the cult opened a portal to another dimension, and before his death, managed to send Aesthir there. She found herself trapped in a weird place known as the Maelstrom, where everything shifted and changed around her.

When Aesthir was on an island floating in the middle of a twisting void, she thought it would be her end, if not for some unlucky adventurers, who literally fell on that island out of nowhere. And from this day, her new adventure began.

Anna Terai

One of the two current companions of Aesthir is the young priestess Anna. This tiefling priestess of Ilmater touched Aesthir's heart with her devotion to the Light and strong will.

Audhild

Maybe Aesthir doesn't always agree with Audhild, who wished to help too many people, in Aesthir's opinion. But Aesthir respects her battle skills and her strong personality.
