Dr. Penny Black's past is a blur, and her earliest memories are of being taken in by the doctors in charge of Black Hospital. Her parents and the rest of the hospital's staff raised her and helped foster a love for medical science in her growing mind. She's the second youngest of a group of four siblings.

Penny's older sister, an electrician, her outgoingness and rashness makes Penny feel more able to take chances and step out of her comfort zone.
Donnie [ sibling ]
Penny's youngest sibling, who she takes time to teach her love for science to and show them all the little joys you can have in a quiet environment through reading or tending to plants.
