PROFILE
A permanent employee (read: servant) of the empire. Killex is a medic who works under the Governexus Ezalia Tridem, mainly as damage control when those at her special events get into (usually pretty intense) brawls. He also serves as a personal physician and medic for the Governexus and all of her staff.
He usually comes across as kind of an asshole to strangers, radiating passive-aggressive tired cleric energy. He is known to speak out-of-caste at times and get snippy with highbloods, but knows when to hold his tongue.
PERSONALITY
Killex is the epitome of the phrase "you have to be capable of harm to be peaceful and not harmless." He is an incredibly intelligent, potentially dangerous character. Ruled by his strict moral code of "Do no harm, take no shit," he is a pacifist and will actively refuse to kill, even if threatened with death.
Killex is ruled by his plans and schedules. He has a hard time improvising and hates when things don't go according to plan, more the type to break under pressure. Despite his hardened, asshole exterior, he cares very deeply for the people he works with. He sees value in everything, even if it's very little. He views himself as expendable, but not meaningless, and treats everything with a similar layer of insight. Killex is prone to angry or very depressive fits of crying or yelling or anything in between. He can be very snippy and avoidant, but shuts down when pressured or snapped at. He thrives on praise, especially even just being seen for the work he does.
STORY
Killex discovered his passion for medicine pretty soon after he got out of the Caverns. He put everything he can into building up his skill (and subsequently, his reputation,) for sweeps, having fully planned out his life. He knew where he was going, how he would get there, and what it had to take. ...And then everything went wrong.
It seems Killex's reputation preceded him. He was kidnapped one night, waking up in a completely strange location with another, higher caste healer that he vaguely recognized. He and this other troll were pitted against each other by the Governexus Ezalia Tridem, in a contest of skills for their lives. Killex poured hours into desperately trying to save a complete stranger's life for the contest--both of their lives were at stake for it. But their wounds were too severe. As the life fled their eyes and their body went limp, Killex became overwhelmed with panic. He had to have failed, if they died from their injuries. He did everything he could to fix them and failed. And yet...he found out that his patient was the one who lasted the longest during the contest. He won. He lived. And quickly he was thrust into the position of the medic for the Governexus.
