Midas
A ex-marine biologist, who loves the sea and the things that live in it. What some might call a curse he gladly accepted as he turned into what he is today.
Midas is someone excited and when he talks about things he likes he won't shut up talking about information that no one cares with a huge smile on his face. He has his own way of dealing with sadness with jokes or sarcasm that can be misunderstood at times.

Trivia
- whenever he stays at sea for a long time some fish start to hitch a ride with him, Midas jokes saying that he's a taxi at this point
- Some remoras somehow always know how to find him, he ended up naming them both (Naia and Lir) and usually shares his snacks with them
- Even though he no longer works as a biologist officially, he continues to take notes and do his own research on the species.
- In the house, Midas usually gets the food and Kai pays the bills.
Design Notes
- his hood is part of his body
- His organs, flesh and blood are in different shades of gold, he likes that because it suits his name
- the eyes in the hood can change expression
- no pawpads on the hands, just one at the base of the feets
Background
When he was little Midas always loved the sea, his family owned an aquarium so he always grew up surrounded by fish. When he grew up he decided to pursue a career as a marine biologist to understand even more about them, and that was for a long time, until one day in particular.
One day he met Kai, who was looking for someone who knew that area of the sea, Kai had said that he was looking for a rare relic that was probably at the bottom of the sea in that region, that was enough to interest Midas' curiosity, even that Kai had hidden some... details, but Midas didn't notice it at the time because he was too excited to pay attention to it. He ended up paying dearly for it.
the "rare relic" was actually the heart of a sea spirit, and kai stole it, or at least tried to, because the spirit found out and got revenge, but it ended up with the boat, kai's crew and Midas himself under water. Midas died at that moment, but Kai ended up bringing him back using the heart of the sea, and basically managed to curse all 3 at the same time. Midas ended up turning into a sea creature and lost almost all of his memories before that, only remembering a few rare details.
Despite having lost most of his memories he distract himself by the fact that he is now a sea creature, which he finds simply amazing, but sometimes when he is alone he resents and wonders who he really is. He currently lives in a house a "safe" distance from the sea with Kai as he tries to figure out how to undo the curses.
