Leaf is like a child in a way- he doesn't know much about the world thanks to being left alone by his parents early on, and never really interacting with anyone. He's very curious though and has been watching humans from a safe distance until that fateful day. He's eager to help and learn and trusts too easily. He's also not used to lying which is why he relies on someone else to keep his secret safe. One might think he's all brawn and no brains, which is only partly true. If he needs to, even though he doesn't like it, Leaf can be the ruthless giant people tend to see in his kind.

Poor lonely not-so-little Leaf. He left his name and parents behind when they left him behind- but likes to think it's his own decision. Having stayed close to a human village for a while, not quite without being noticed, he met a certain magician. As one of the first 'humans' that didn't try to either kill him or flee, the magician actually made a deal with him: his magic will turn Leaf into a human for a day, and in turn Leaf promised to protect the magician. Little did he know the magician was on the run from something big.
Thanks to that, Leaf could finally experience life in a human village- he found work on a farm and met someone to consider a friend. Said friend got behind his secret pretty quick, catching Leaf on one of his nightly strolls to renew the magic. Lucky for him, that was how he got help in hiding his secret. And then there's also this girl he likes...Leaf, your life sucks. x'D
