Anastasia is the product of an experiment conducted by lunarian researchers on her homeworld, the Earth's moon. Said experiment involved inseminating an "earthling", the monstrous dominant species of Earth, with lunarian DNA, making Anastasia a hybrid. Though she typically looks like a regular lunarian, she has the ability to take on a terrible form that closer resembles her earthling half. Due to an incident that occurred when she was a child, she wasn't allowed to leave the research base she was born in until she was much older; she is still not allowed to leave without extreme precautions being taken.

Having very little outside contact, she is very naive and curious with little understand of "proper" lunarian social behaviours. She's also not all that talkative, typically communicating physically or making noises, but she is capable of speech. Her "abnormal" behaviour makes the other researchers assume that she's less developed/intelligent, with them often treating her like a child or even a wild animal. Anastasia unfortunately doesn't pick up on this with how oblivious she can be, but she is no less intelligent than the average lunarian. Despite her sad upbringing, she is very optimistic and gets excited about little things very easily; she also has Youri by her side - she is oblivious to Youri's feelings towards her.
