Eden grew up living with just her father in new york, the two lived in a two bedroom apartment, It was small and humble.. Her father was rich and all he ever bought was what the two needed. As a child she didn’t understand, she thought it was him testing her, making her humble. As she grew up she relized it came from a place of paranoia. Her father, Niceoli, became a famous detective when he was young because of a missing persons case he solved. She knew better than to ask more about it than that. He hated talking about work with her, anytime she asked he’d get a far off stare or bluntly tell her his word didn’t concern her. She could have easily looked up the case, It was famous, she couldn’t count how many articles, or podcasts, or documentaries she’d heard about on her fathers famous case. The porcelain man case. She’d never looked into it more. It seemed disrespectful, and like Niceoli said it didn’t concern her. Eden spent most of her time simply killing time, she had a job singing at a local pub, she had a boyfriend she’d spend time with, she even would take a college course or two. She didn’t have much of a drive. She sometimes thought her only reason for being alive was to keep Niceoli company. Even so was gone most days and some nights, after all these years he was still doing detective work. On the nights he’d stay late her boyfriend, Marshal would spend the night. He was a student teacher at the college she went to.

The two were completely different, but they made it work. At first. The issues started one night Marshal was staying the night. Eden was woken by a violent raddling down the hall. Peeling her door open she saw Marshal jingling at the door. When she called his name he seemed shocked and muttered about trying to go to the bathroom. It was weird, he knew she knew he was lying. Eden didn’t think much past that, and she didn’t need to. Every time he came over after that she slept through the night. If she was anxious he’d make her tea. It was nice to go to sleep with someone and wake up with them there. Maybe what they say about love blinding people is true, maybe if she was more careful she would have tasted whatever pills were ground up and put in her tea, maybe she would have noticed when the tea tasted stronger than usual. It didn’t matter she didn’t remember much after that, only waking up in the hospital, the bitter taste of bile in her throat. Marshall was nowhere to be seen. The only person she saw was Niceoli. He barley asked if she was okay before beginning to explain, she always liked that about him, he got to the point. Marshall was a fan of Niceolis. Rather a fan of blogging crime cases, seeing Eden at college gave him an idea. He would get closer with her and learn the inside scoop on her fathers case. When he learned she new nothing he didn’t give up, no he decided to to some field work. Breaking into Niceolis room, going though their mail, and personal items, drugging her with sleeping pills so she wouldn’t find him looking through their stuff. That’s why she was here, he over counted the dose. Marshall thought he killed her. Not surw what else to do he called Niceoli through Edens phone. Niceoli called an ambulance and then beat the boy bloody, Marshal and Niceoli both were to go to court. Edens stomach was pumped and that’s where it ended.

Unfortunately for Eden this was just the beginning, she grew paranoid, dropping from school and spending her time researching cases and anyone she met. Eden had never asked to be trapped in the wonderland of Niceolis fame, but neither had he. So down the rabbit hole she dove. As her mental health got worse Niceoli sat her down. He told her the whole story of his famous case. How in the end he moved to New York to avoid the fall out. As he closed she could tell how much recounting it hurt him. What she went through was nothing compared. As he finished he continued to keep her in mind. He suggested a change of pace for her as well. Moving in with a close friend of his. He lived in Brittan, His mother worked with Niceoli and his family was one of the few people Niceoli trusted. A change of pace wasn’t a bad idea. Plus the friend Niceoli had mentioned was a Cop, Eden already interested. She moved before Marshals trial, falling in place with her fathers friend she joined him in his work, quickly passing the police academy and moving to follow her fathers footsteps. She sometimes thought she was too much like Niceoli. Maybe that was a good thing. When her fathers friend disappeared and she volunteered on the case she realized that it probably wasn’t.

Niceoli Oritz

Eden grew up with only her father around. Well he can be agressive and brooding she couldn't thank him enough for the life she gave him. She only wishes one day they can both escape his massive shadow
