Ng'ombe

Adoption Prompt

It was no secret that Ng’ombe loved to frolic. Summer days were always spent chasing the butterflies through the overgrown grass of the meadows, pouncing and yowling at them until they finally flew away, far out of reach of the petite lioness. Winter days were spent in a similar fashion, although Ng’ombe noticed a significant lack of butterflies during the winter, so she adapted her frolicking techniques to include the chasing of snowflakes when those were abundant, which was often during the entirety of the long winter months. Ng’ombe much preferred the openness of meadows and valleys in comparison to the cramped feel of forests and canyons, perhaps due to the existence of her ever-present claustrophobia.

Regardless of the cause, Ng’ombe will always herself to prance and enjoy the freedom that comes with open spaces, never really overthinking the exposure of them and, when she does, rather than thinking of it as a threat, she’d always perceive it as an opportunity to make new friends. The idea that being seen is an opportunity rather than a danger is also why Ng’ombe would never be able to hunt for herself. She’d much rather make new friends in the open than stalk in the shadows.

Ng’ombe would also argue that the beauty of the sun setting over an open valley is an experience that is like nothing that could ever be seen or felt in an enclosed ‘prison’, as she’d like to call it as, in an open space, she can almost feel every ray of light as it slowly shifts down beyond the horizon, painting the grass of the meadow in hues of blue, pink, and purple. The beauty of the open sunset is something that Ng’ombe wouldn’t give up for anything.
