Rammiel

My main vent sona
A fallen angel who has an affinity for and frequently roams hospitals. He comes to those in crisis to aid them through hard times. Normally seems sad, or melancholy. Keeps most people at a distance, but is endlessly devoted and protective towards anyone who does get past his Issues (tm).
Simultaneously hates himself but also thinks of himself as higher than the god he once served under.
Insecure, paranoid, but also passionate and ?????
He's usually pretty hard on himself.

Rammiel used to be a high ranking seraph, a watcher of Earth. While he was often called to lead the charge against evil and protect and keep balance among mortals, his main task was to come to the aid of those in crisis. A guardian angel to those in desperate need.
All angels have the ability to go into a "detect evil" mode, often put in use to search out and eradicate those who are particularly evil and would be a major threat to the lives of humanity. This mode acts sort of like heat vision, only everything is in grayscale; those who are bad appear darker gray (ones who are fully black must be destroyed) and those who are good appear more lighter in color. Angels are also 'super powered' and seraphs enter their full form immediately upon using their detect evil sense. This allows them to kill quickly without much struggle.
Rammiel used to have a fully functioining detect evil sense, but whilst fighting a lord of devils who was taking over and possessing humans, his sense became really mucked up and defective (he may have been momentarily possessed or attempted to be possessed which was really hard on him). He and the other angels defeated and exorcised the demon, but Rammiel was irreparably damaged by the event. But he didn't find that out until much later.
He was put in charge of finding the leader of a cult and smiting him before causing too much destruction. Rammiel gathered a small patrol of angels and told them each to go to one of five places where the cult leader was suspected to be, go into detect evil mode, and, if the cult leader was found, summon the other angels to finish the job. When Rammiel went to his designated location and went into detect evil mode, something went horribly wrong:
His defective sensor showed everything (innocent and otherwise) as black.
Being overwhelmed by the sudden apparent influx of evil in the area, Rammiel blacked out, entered seraph mode, drew his sword, and slaughtered everyone around him. Alerted to the disturbing vibes coming from Rammiel, the other angels came to him, only to see him murdering innocent people. He couldn't snap out of it and was subsequently shot down by a beam of light from the sky. It ripped him of his seraph and angelic status and he became a fallen angel, due to his [unintentional] murder of innocence.
He passed out and awoke without being told anything. And since he still retained his wings and many of his supernatural powers (just couldn't talk to or see other angels or enter seraph mode or keep his burning sword aflame for long) Rammiel did not know he had Fallen. He doesn't learn til way later and when he does figure this out, Rammiel doesn't take it well. Though, he eventually comes to shaky terms with it.

• Black thing above head is not a true halo, but a chaotic void where his halo used to be (can be drawn as a neat circlet or wild and jagged, as long as it's black)
