About
Devoted • Intelligent • Irrational • Defeatist
Having clawed, struggled and fought his way up Media's strict social ladder, Analog is a monitor who is looked upon favorably by most those who know him. While he is known for being anti-social and a prickly individual, he is also best known for being a devoted and sharply intelligent worker who can find a clever or intuitive solution to any problem that's put before him. It's these qualities that have those higher-up in the ranks of monitor, and Social Media, looking upon him favorably as a suitable candidate for the position of monitor consultant, one of the most coveted positions within all of Social Media.
But the work that Analog does is not just limited to the assignments that are provided to him by his superiors. When not working his way through what's expected of him, Analog has begun to conduct his own investigations into Media itself, at the behest of several individuals that are looked upon with unfavored eyes by the higher ranking members of Media. Once having been unverified himself, Analog began to look into these requests himself, to aid and lift up those who were not quite as fortunate as him. However, his diligence and charity has come at a strict cost. Media is rife with corruption, and there are plenty of animals that will kill and silence those who dare to bring the shadows into the light.
Except Analog has not just dared to breach Media's own dark history, at least intentionally. For deeply intertwined and connected with Media's own history, is the history of another land, beyond the impenetrable barrier that has covered Media like a shroud for all of Analog's life. Plans that have been in motion for generations are protected by those with both the power and the knowledge to carry them out, and to thrust any who dare to upset those dark plots into the fires of Media's hidden monster. And even after Analog sacrificed all he fought for to save not just his own life, but the truth he so desperately needs to bring into the light, those phantom flames still lick hungrily at his heels. And he knows one day, they will inevitably catch up and consume him.
Character
Likes
Working
Or generally doing something. He gets anxious when he's been lying still for too long.
The mountains
A solitary place of respite. He knows he's safe within the cold, hostile, peaks of the Static Mountains.
His family
And his few friends are counted among them. Analog cares deeply for those that are his family by blood and by bond.
Dislikes
Media
How could he ever reconcile with the faceless destroyer? These scars run too deep to heal.
Film
Film is faceted with facile. The gold only glimmers for fools, only when the eyes are clear can one see that it is all just tarnished and rotting...
Himself
If only he wasn't so frightened of the shadows around him. Perhaps he could do something instead of cowering like a pup behind his mother's legs.

Story
Analog was a monitor who simply wanted to quietly keep his head down and do his duties, so that he could gain benefits from Media for both himself and his aging father. However, after a tragic accident in the Capital would leave his father dead, Analog would follow the papertrail down a rabbithole of crime and internal espionage. It would culminate in Analog being forced to flee the Capital, being framed for the murder of the one under his own instruction, a monitor assistant named Identification. Framed and slated for execution by a branch of the esteemed Noble family, who were plotting to upheave Media and claim it's political and mystic power for their own land beyond the impenetrable barrier that covered the land of Media. Seeing Analog as a threat to their plans that were being constructed and carried out for generations, they made moves to remove him from the equation. But Analog, snooping through files would stumble across his own name, marked for execution, and fled the Capital, taking his work with him, including a string of intelligent code he had named Integrity to aid him in cracking the strict security measures and firewalls that kept Media's buried secrets at bay. On the run, Analog would aim for a place that no cameras or monitors or other eyes could reach: The Static Mountains.
The cold peaks of the Static Mountains were able to hide Analog from Media's prying eyes. He would continue his research into the secrets Media had killed and tried to kill to keep hidden, and building a drone body for Integrity to inhabit, he would transform the code to not just be a way to bypass security measures put in place by Media, but also as a backup and portable database to hold all of the history and information he had gathered. In time, Analog would come across the Carnivora Colony, a group of rebels headed by the lynx-cat Rave, and after informing Rave of his plight and gaining the lynx leader's trust, Rave and Analog would become close friends as they both worked in their own ways to make a difference in Media. Analog would also make an inside connection at the Capital, finding the trust, partnership and friendship of a raven named Quark, who too was a monitor assistant. But the most crucial piece of information that Analog was not aware of was something that happened to him while he fled from the Capital. For magic was not unfamiliar to those he had made enemies of, and one of them, not content to let him slip out from under her claws that easily, would curse and posion him with magic, and would make his biggest enemy not Media or the family from the land across the sea. No, his greatest ally and his greatest enemy would be his mind.

Contingency •
The Equal
Analog's enemy, and also his equal. Analog and Contingency are matched in many ways, their intelligence and minds being the most evident. Though Analog is physically stronger than Contingency, she is gifted with magical abilities, and has also cursed him into a cycle of perpetual paranoia. At the moment, their battle against each other is at a wary standstill.
Rave •
Close Friend
Rave and Analog are close friends, with two contrary personalities that play off each other despite the differences. Rave is a proud, strong and rather light-hearted lynx-cat, while Analog is a more logical and cold individual. However the two were able to foster a close friendship in spite of these circumstances.
Settings •
Former Friend...
During Analog's time as a monitor, he and Settings would cultivate a friendship due to their similar ideals and complimentary personalities. With Analog's flight from Media and his supposed death, the two have obviously drifted further apart, though that hasn't stopped Settings from looking into just what happened to Analog a little more closely, despite the behest of Film.
