Profile

Graham is a human; he is quiet and thoughtful, and often notices things that others overlook. He generally prefers to be alone, and his occasional callousness has made it difficult for him to find lasting friends. Like all humans in this world, Graham has a certain amount of innate magic power. He has a particular affinity for healing magic, and developing this ability led him to attend University in the hopes of helping others.

Graham led a troubled life full of desperation and heartache; one that he was just starting to escape when he began University. There, he found a mentor in magic who treated him kindly and accepted him for all his flaws; his magic flourished, and Graham did as well. Unfortunately, his mentor was dying of a disease not curable through magic. When he passed, Graham spiraled into a deep depression. To try and occupy himself, he began using his mentor’s notes and his own knowledge to design a conduit that would allow him to cast a wider variety of spells. He had no intentions of using it once he knew that it worked; he just needed something to keep himself busy in the months following his mentor’s death. This desire led to the creation of his kitsune mask, which allowed him to cast spells that applied temporary transformations to others. Once a friend of Graham’s helped him realize the mask’s true potential, though, he began to have trouble keeping to his original plan to shelve it…

Graham lives in a world of humans and humanoid creatures. Everyone has access to magic, and this magic is broadly categorized into several types: Healing, elemental, light, and transformational. People typically have some potential to use all these forms of magic, but they specialize based on their own interests and natural affinities. These broad types can be further separated based on how they tend to express themselves in magic users; for example, one magic user could be able to use elemental magic to harness fire specifically, while another might only be able to use it to harness water. A skilled elemental magic user could potentially master both elements and more. Not everyone reaches this level of proficiency; the vast majority of people are only able to perform several simple spells and use conduits to channel premade spells.
